I don't know but it does! :)
I can only find it in glass bottles at christmas or in the odd pub.
Just found this artice...
Some fans insist Coke tastes better out of glass, a claim the company acknowledges but does not support.
"The short answer is, that's a determination or distinction that a lot of consumers will insist on, but not one we've been able to empirically prove," Williamson said.
Sonbinh Nguyen, an associate chemistry professor at Northwestern University, said a glass bottle, because of its thickness, can retain its cold temperature longer, and noted plastics can allow oxygen to penetrate, potentially affecting what's inside.
But even the Glass Packaging Institute, the trade association for glass manufacturers, isn't ready to declare victory in the taste battle. "There's a perception that it does taste better than in a plastic bottle," spokesman Joe Cattaneo said. "I can't give you the scientific information."
At a Shell gas station in Lincolnwood, Ill., the glass bottles are selling about as well as the plastic, says clerk Marlon Hanna, who has tried the new bottles, reported the Sun-Times.
"It tastes different in glass," he said. "I don't know why.Maybe it's just me."

I agree - I love diet coke from the glass bottle, it tastes so much better than out of a can or plastic bottle - not many places do it now and it is so much more expensive but worth every penny/cent

I'm not sure either, but soda always tastes better in a glass bottle. Maybe it has something to do with the way it reacts to the aluminum or something. Or it could just be psychological.

There is probably a psycological aspect to it. i.e. you think it is a better product when served in a bottle.
But there is a chance you are tasting some of the laquour on the can when you drink out of a can. It is unlikely you are tasting metal as the cans are coated loads if time with laquour to stop the coke corroding the metal.
Both will probably taste better than if it is served on draft in a bar, as this comes as a syrup, and the bar owner links it up to carbonated water - and is unlikely to get he mix 100% right

Because glass doesn't have a taste to taint the liquid with, unlike aluminium and plastic, that no matter how taste-free they make it, always alters the flavour of the liquid, even though it's almost unnoticeable by the majority of the consumers.

I think with all sodas the bottle keeps the drinks fresh longer. With cans... the sodas have an added taste from the can or from sitting in them for a long time.

I object to the stuff that comes out of a Pub's machine ewww! I think the sealing process in a can effects the taste.

A friend of mine works next to a coke factory and he says ALL the workers wear face masks, ALL the time. Do you think this means something? Personally, I've switched to my own homemade lemon ice tea. Now I know what I'm drinking.
