It Is because Americans judge people based on ushually the first facts they see. But I beleive yhe french people being cowards comes from ww2 when the frwnch surrenderednyo the germans. For some reason Americans beleive this is because the French are cowards who don't want to fight. But, they surrendered because they were extremmly overpowered by the German forces and not able to fight back very well... So instead of fighting back they did the smart thing and they surrendered an saved tons of peoples lives. I think that Americans would do the same thing in this position, and I think it will come very soon as some countries are catching up to America and will soon pass them but ring ad arrogant as they are they don't see this. And I am Canadian and I haven't heard a French joke from a fellow Canadian but have heard them tons of times by Americans on the Internet

conranger1 is absolutely right, its not a simple choice. If you are asking who'd win in a war, however, itd probably be America just because we have more resources, better technology, and more money to put into it. The Brits are great, they have their **** hammered down tight, but the US Army is just too good/rich. And our Navy is the best in the world-that you simpley can't argue about, we have a great airforce, and our special operations are getting better and better with all the experience they are gaining in the middle east. If the Brits and America got into it, id put my money on the Americans (lol, we did beat the Brits once before, remember.....hahah). But seriously, itd be a long, bloody war and both sides would get ****** up pretty bad.

The U.S.A. certainly does not pay for the British Armed Forces.
The question has to be balanced by the relative size of both countries and the size of the military budget spent on both forces, its not as simple as A or B.

after World war 2, the UK and her Empire were exuasted of resources and in debit went into a sudden decline and pushing the UK's military to 10th in the world while the Unites states is at number 1!

The US. Britian has some good stuff, but not world numbers like the US. Some nice tanks and jets, but not enough of em. Plus they cost too much for the Brits to build too many.
