take your time.. speak to your parents .. see his parents .. get to know more about him from his friends.. and then make sure your happy with him.. the first few months are the best.. so wait a little before you make the final decisions.. all the best

I would wait, it will be something to look forward to! Wait for him to ask you. I have been with my boyfriend 2 years and we are happy but I dont want to rush into marriage and kids etc, Im 23 and feel it is too early, we both know that we want to be together in the long term but there is no rush, there will be nothing left for us to do if we get married this early on in the relationship. 1 month is not long at all you are probably still in the honeymoon period, wait atleast a year before a commitment like that. While you are waiting start saving for a wedding and collecting pictures of things you want at your wedding that way your day will be perfect because you would have thought about every detail and be 100% sure that he is who you want to spend the rest of your life with!

You don't say how old either of you are. I do believe, however, that it is completely too early. You can't even begin to really understand a person and all their good qualities and bad qualities and family dynamics in just a month. Not to dumb it down, because I hate this term, but you're still in puppy love stage where everything is wonderful and he can do no wrong. There are financial aspects to worry about as well and where to live etc.
Maybe it's a subliminal message to yourself that in your question you stated i love him? with a question mark. Do not rush into anything, if you two are in love, it most certainly can wait. Besides, marriage talk scares a lot of guys off.

A month? I have been with my fiance for 6 years and have only just got engaged.. what's the rush?

My fiance is not the same person who I first got with... I love him more now than I did within that first month but it can so easily go the other way... you cannot know who someone really is within a month... these things take time!

You can commit to each other in ways other than getting engaged... get to know each other, and know in your heart that you want to be with this man for the rest of your life but there really is no need for engagement yet!

So many people rush into marriage/engagement within months of knowing each other, and it ends up in divorce... like all these celebrities... they're married within 6 months, and divorced within another 3....

If you're planning on spending the rest of your life with this man, then enjoy each stage as it comes rather than always rushing to the next stage!

Every situation is different, but one month is a pretty short time frame. That still falls under the "honeymoon" phase, commonly accepted as the time period at the beginning of the relationship where the partner can "do no wrong" in one's eyes. I would let that effect wear off and see if you still feel the same way. There is nothing wrong with dating for a couple of years and seeing how time affects your relationship. If you do it right, it should be the only wedding you need ;)

A month is not "a while" in the scheme of relationships. A month is no time at all.
And at 18, you could both do with waiting more than "a while" before bringing up the subject of marriage.

Ah, yah, waay too soon. Wait at least a year- at one month you're still both on you're best behavior and don't 'really' know each other. Be monogamous and commited to each other- but don't make it legal for quite a while to come. That would be just plain stupid. If it's meant to be it will all work out just fine, but if it's not you could stick yourself in an unhappy marriage by rushing it. Let it play out over time. Don't be foolish and rush into it.

a month is way too soon to get to know any one that well you have the rest of your life to be married if you love each other you will be together married or not take it from me in a 12 year relationship and still no desire to marry

firstly, personally i think a month is too little time to really get to know a person well enough to get married. and secondly, you need to be absolutely sure that he is one of the few members of the male specie who's ego won't be bruised terrible because you asked him. it is after all tradition that the man asks the woman, and not the other way around. hang on just a little bit. if he feels the same, it won't be long before he pops the question.

One month is just too short a space of time to graduate from a relationship to getting married. You need to take your time to get what you want. People always come into a relationship under pretence: he might not be what you think he is, - I mean the angel or better still the caring person you think he is.

A month?? Gal I think you are on the path that reads RINGRING. Get a latest check on yourself and him first. Don't let your emotions sweep you onto your feet. And to propose to him? I mean, gal, where's your integrity and pride in being a woman? Womanhood is fab, you just get loosed and use it. Don't ask him, make him ask you. But then, I still think that the time factor is too little, too late. Give it two or three months and then you'll really know if the feelings are mutual.
