Whenever I wash my machine-washable down comforter it sheds. I take it out of the dryer and there are feathers poking out and stick all over it.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't do anything about it. Real down items should *not* be washed. The problem with some "down" comforters I have found is that the thread count on the outer covering of the comforter is insufficient to hold in the tiny down feathers. The little tips of the feathers work their way thru the fabric, thus the shedding. When buying a down comforter in the future, be sure you can get one that has a very high thread count per inch on the covering. And DONT wash it.

I wouldn't wash it in a machine even if it says machine washable.
I would have it dried cleaned just for that problem.
There is nothing you can do, unless you put a duvet over it after you washed it.
