From what I have studied and researched and learned, there's really no way to prevent Global Warming, we can only slow it down.

If it's a natural cycle, which it may be, then there's no way to even slow it down, if it's man-made Global Warming, then we can at least slow it down, but not prevent it.

I refuse to go with any of the current possibilities of the cause of our current Global Warming because there's not enough evidence to support any theories so far, so it's really hard to say.

Edit: In response to the answers above, we don't need to save our planet, nor do we need to "fix" the ozone.

The Earth is alive, if you will, it strives, it heals itself, the only thing we need to save is ourselves, or possibly our grandchildren. The Earth will take care of itself as well as the ozone as it has since it's birth.

Until this point where people only realise now, how much damage global warming had done and is doing to us, I believe that it is not too late if we all do something to stop this 'disaster'. Like as you said, becoming totally green. It is true that now global warming had indeed affected us to a large extent. However, we can do our part to slow down the pace of the damage. Our Earth, the place we're living in, needs us. Why not do something to help our future generations when we know what 's going wrong there? I say, if we can do something to help, then let's all do it! Cos' at this point, the most important thing is to able to stand together and fight against global warming and not to doubt whether going green's gonna help ease away this vexing issue- global warming, or not.

Emissions due to the activities of mankind equate to approximately 1% of the atmospheric content of CO2 at 2% - 0.0001% of global gas content.

Volcanic eruptions equate to around 10% of total CO2, or 100 times more than mankind.

As Lyra quite correctly stated we are still - geologically speaking - in an ice age, of which we are slowly emerging.

So yes, climate change will continue - as it always has done, and it must not be forgotten that had we not had a massive increase in CO2 previously, the last major global ice age would never have ended.

Maybe but there are several factors that lead to global warming. What we must remeber know is that it has been a lot hotter then it is now and also a lot colder then it is now or ever has been before we came along. So even if we go green the amotshire would still change in one way or another.

I have read some interesting answers on this page, some of which reflect the current political agendas of do nothing.

We're all going to die someday so what the hell, "let's party like it's 1999." Oh, we're in 2007 now! Get my point!

If it weren't for the anti-pollution campaigns of the 1970's our rivers and lakes would still be cesspools. Our roads would be lined with trash bags and candy wrappers, and our cities, like Pittsburgh and New York would require breathing apparatuses in order to live or work in.

On the other hand, we (the USA) sold off our dirty technology to third world countries (China, Eastern Europe, and Latin America) which continue to turn out pollution as we once did in the USA.

The world must unite and resolve to work together in protecting our environment. Not just from green house emissions but also from depleting our natural resources. Strip mining for example. Even cell phones are wreaking havoc on the homing abilities of Honey Bees and if we loose the honey bees, the entire food chain will break down.

So, in answer to your question.... the environment will recover but it will take time. Perhaps not in your lifetime but maybe in that of your daughter or niece or grandson.

If you knew that the changes you make in your life today, (i.e. becoming totally green) would save the planet for future generations would you do it?

Cheers!

When will people get it. This has been made up. The whole universe is warming so how could our pollution cause the who universe to warm up. It is the sun that is causes this to happen. If it was about saving the planet then the government would have put money in to power sources such a solar power out in the western states wind power in mid western states and water and solar power in eastern states. If it really was a concern things would have been done already. How do you explain the universe warming up? If you want to save on energy you can do things if it means saving money. Don't run the TVs computers all day long. dim your lights or get led bulbs. walk more if you live in a city. get double pane windows with E glass stop using a cell phone so much. replace you refrigerator if it 10 years old to a more efficient one. There are things you can do to save money. but will it change this so called global warming no. just read up about it here www.infowars.com and www.prisonplanet.com search those sites. but it is lies about global warming.

well, we won't become totally green because there are still lots of people who don't believe in global warming...but to answer your question....global warming will continue until it goes thru it's entire process....it happens every so many years, but no one living now has been around when it happened last time. We do try to reduce global warmings effects on humanity though (try to save humanity), and, doing "something" is a lot better than doing nothing.

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=538

From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number. The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay. All reverse cell phone lookup services charge for the information as it is a contract bind between the mobile company and themselves, where they pay for the info. Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it. If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report. If you only want to reverse lookup one cell phone or land-line phone number you will be charged about $15 but if you need to reverse lookup more than one phone or cell phone number you can get a years access to their database.

Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.

This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for. I definitly reccomend this service, check it out: http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=538

I saw a show on the TV with David Suzuki about global warming.
It was said that if we stopped emitting green house gas tomorrow global warming would continue at it's present rate until 2060.
It would appear we are too late.

WE can only slow down the process.Global warming is a product of industrialisation and comforts we enjoy. If we are prepared to live like Adam and Eve ,we may perhaps stop global warming.Global warming started the day man invented fire and started eating cooked food.
