At first I wanted the book thrown at him, but now, I don't know, does it really serve a purpose the put him in jail for years? Now I'm thinking a long probation would be OK. In jail he is not doing anyone any good, out of prison, he can be a productive member of society. As it stands right now he has been punished a great deal, What he did was so wrong, But I don't think he should be penalized beyond the ability to recover.

I think Michael Vick should be punished but I'm not sure I agree with the punishment that was dealt out to him. Had the average everyday Joe off the street did what Vick did I don't think he'd have received as harsh a sentence as Vick got. I've been involved in numerous federal prosecutions over the years and I've seen lots of drug dealers get off lighter than Vick. I even had an arson for hire case where the guy got off with less time than Vick. It's no skin off my butt that Vick has to spend the next two years in jail, and I think both he and his brother Marcus are basically street thugs with great athletic ability but had he not been a sports celebrity I doubt he'd have gotten as much time as he did. I love to watch him play though.

He should have several books thrown at him, and not just one. He admitted in August that he killed 6-8 dogs himself and bankrolled the business/bets, as well as porfitted from them. He disciplined the non-achievers, and left almost winners to rot.
I feel sorry for any mother or brother who must see this happen to their child, but do not tell me they had no idea he did this. Maybe they turned a blind eye to it, but that is gross neglegence if they did, isn't it?
What this does is send out the message that it does not matter rich or poor, famous or not, you cannot harm, torture, maim and kill animals for profit and think you can get away with it if caught. No, I think he got off light. I do not think he meant the words his lawyer probably taught him to say.
Anyone will say anything in court if they do not have the true character of a hero, and MV does not.

What goes through the mind of someone with so little compassion toward animals that they would torture them? He certainly didn't need the money he would get from betting. So, if he didn't need the money he must have done it for the fun of watching dogs tear each other to shreds and for actively participating in killing them...I don't know about you but I find that kind of person scary and inhumane! Just curious...got a thumbs down...???

I don't know what sentence he'll get I hope it's the maximum. He knew what was going on was illegal and didn't care. I really have a problem with people who have it made them do something stupid to mess it up. What an idiot.

His sentence should be to work in a veterinarian's clinic for 2 years till he figures out dogs are very treasured family pets.

when he starts getting bored with abusing dogs and starts with people, then do you think hes still a productive member of society. he deserves every bit of his sentence and more.

What do I think?
I think I have to go to work this morning.
I think my truck needs some front end work.
I think I'll make myself a cup of coffee before I leave.
And...OH yeah,
I think Micheal Vick is being sentenced today!

If we are to be so laxed with punishment, this will only encourage more crimes, since the penalties for crime will be a joke.
