I think you are mis-informed.
Both on you premise of everyone wanting to go to your heaven, and that there is a god.

Obviously they wouldn't, and no, heaven is not "all about being with God". For those with basic Bible knowledge, God's purpose for man was that they live on the earth forever, fill it with perfect offspring, and enjoy the planet as a paradise. There is NO mention in the Bible that man was put here to live for a while before going to heaven. The idea that if you're good you go to heaven is a false one that has no Biblical support. Rather, the Bible says that only a select few will be given the gift of life in heaven. It promises that for most, they will have the opportunity originally held out to Adam and Eve (prior to their sinning and bringing death to all mankind). Personally, I believe in God, I love God, and do my best to willingly serve him, yet I have NO desire to go to heaven. I wish to have a share in restoring this planet to paradise and living here eternally, enjoying the life that God meant for us to enjoy.

Because they are afraid to go to hell. it's one of the two. And which one would you choose. The problem is they don't know what the key is to open Heaven's gates. They think that if they just live a good life, or what seems to be a good life, they "earn" their way to Heaven. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way. You can't "earn" your way to Heaven. There is only one key to Heaven, and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus says on the gospel of John: I am the way the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, if not through Me.

Yes, exactly. It is not just little or no interest, it is an active dislike of the idea of an authority over them. They want a heaven without God. Good question, have a star.

I think the answer to that is obvious if you think about it. If people have little or no interest in God, but want to go to heaven, they obviously don't think it's about being with God. They want to go to their own idea of heaven - a 'nice place'.

I don't know either. Heaven is the reward of believers in Jesus, the place for us to spend eternity with Him.
I think they want the paradise part without God.

j3nnabear - bite me!
I don't want to go to heaven. That's where people like j3nnabear want to go. I'd rather hang with the good people. You know, the ones who respect others, don't judge others and love their neighbour. I'll take eternity in the ground with them, you take heaven and all the other bigots like j3nnabear.

Heaven can be about eternal tea parties with Mother Theresa or if you choose the Flying Spaghetti Monster about beer volcanoes and strippers factories.
I made my choice dear, did you ?

With a few billion others gathered around a throne continually validating the ego of an incomprehensible deity seems rather boring to me.
