the bottom disc in my back is in deterioation, and so is the discs at L4 L5. This is hereditory. Every time I move the pain shoots right through me. I am getting so fed up with it. I cant take anything stronger than panadine forte and cant have anti inflamitriesm creams, injections as Im on warfarin I shuffle when walking as my legs are stiff and so sore.My Dr was going to send me to a musculoskeletal Dr, but being on the pension I cant afford it as my pension is affected by exchange rates, and I never get the same amount each fortnight it varies. The only thing that helps my pain is lying down, so I sleep a lot. The pain is so exhausting and tiring its also depressing.

I am waiting to see an orthapeadic surgeon. I have been to a nurologist who said I have nothing nurologically wrong with me, I did this because my Dad dies of motor nuerone disease and wanted to make sure I didnt have that. He found some osteo in my hips. My cousin has exactly the same problem as me only six yrs ago she had operation for spurs on the spine. to this day she still suffers like I do. I am under a rhumertologist for sjogrens syndrome, which means my immune system is destroying my saliva glands, which is also hereditory. Im not moaning, just looking for something to help with pain. I do stretch exercises when I can manage them.

Listen carefully: I have a osteo-arthuritis in a severe deteriorating stages. I've had eight surgeries in my lower back. I have two cages and 32 screws, along with 32 pieces of wire and twelve cadavar bones, holding my spine together. I can tell you what kind of pain I'm going to have at a certain hour, it's consistant and dibillitating, crippling.
I've been prromised a wheel chair in the future, if it stops the pain, good. I sleep two to three hours a night.

I was on many meds (drugs) for 14 years then one day my doctor sent me to a neurologist, he said simply "what took you so long to get here?"
Within four weeks, after some tests I was implanted with a "Medtronic spinal stimulator" that has nine wires controlling my spinal areas that send out the pain signals. I have an controller that I can adjust the controls as frequently as I want according to conditions.
Yes, there's still some pain, it's about 70 per cent gone but, what's left I control be a much smaller amount of drugs.

I was on as many as nine different pills, I now take one and have cut back from five a day to one or two. I have and can assume a almost normal life style again. It's getting worse, I know that, but, I can now control it and it may take years to finally finish me but, I can now see the light. I have slept for eight hours a nigh now for almost five weeks.

Go see your neurologist and ask him about the "Medtronic spinal stimulator" and a trial run with it, I did and, it changed my life. I'm 70 years old.

By the way, Medicare will pay for the entire bill.

Hi..I guess experiencing the pain at a certain moment makes one feel weaker, but surmounting it can give you more courage if you should face it again somehow, from learning how it was, And yet by knowing how to survive it will make you stronger each time.. Mental pain is curable when you try to.. To relax and be genuinely happy in someways that you can.. Or with some proper medication for treatment. I wish you always well..! Thank you..
