There's this wonderful girl in my life. We were doing some Christmas shopping over the weekend and also picked up some personal items for her. While we were there, she also tried on some clothes, and I had to admit, they looked really good on her. We just couldn't afford to get them. However I'm hoping to surprise her with them as a late Christmas present, since we won't be able to see each other over the holidays. My idea is to get her a whole outfit, including a bra and panty set she was looking at, and to write a poem to go with each article of clothing, something along the lines of how Romeo wished he was a glove upon Juliet's hand (read the balcony scene). Although there's one catch: this girl is currently seeing someone else. Yet her boyfriend treats her like dirt. She acknowledges this. She's also said many times that I have treated her better then her boyfriend has ever had, and that she can just be herself around me. So, do you think it's a good idea?

Her bf won't be a problem should it come to blows. She's planning to dump him after the holidays anyways.

I like the idea of getting her something, but perhaps not an entire outfit, underwear and all, maybe one item of clothing, and a quick poem telling her how much you appreciate her. While she obviously enjoys your company, you don't want to overwhelm her, especially as she's with someone at the moment. this may cause her to become confused, and force her into hasty decisions. Not to mention, if you throw yourself at her, there's no chase involved, and a relationship that takes effort to get into is almost always better appreciated than if it arrived gift wrapped!

No.
At first it sounded very romantic, untill I read the catch.
Fact: She's with a boyfriend who behaves like a man and makes her feel like a woman.
You are her emotional toiletpaper where she can come to complain.
Yes, she complains to you, and she can talk with you - but after that she will always go back to her boyfriend, because he has the one thing you don't: He is a man.
Read www.laddertheory.com . You are being used and doing this is a waste of time and money.

Let me ask you this first; how confident are you that you can beat this guy in a fight? 'cause that's what you're running towards. If he treats her like dirt, why is she still with him? Maybe she's just griping for the sake of griping.
And how sure are you that you're not in the friendship-zone? The words "I wish I could meet some one like you" and "I can really be myself around you" aren't the signals alot of guys think they are. They usually mean "I really love you... like a little brother!"

if the girl is not yours dont waste all your time and money on getting her a gift , you will just end up getting hurt when she goes back to her boyfriend. Ask yourself the question , if her boyfriend is so bad and i make her feel so good why is she still with him?

It's a sweet present! A great idea your a romantic.
But, don't waste your money till she's dumped the guy. If she was really into you she'd already have left him. You don't want to be her side guy or her rebound.
Plus, its really rude to send panties to another guy's gal.

Up until the part where he reads the poems and comes after you with either a blunt object or gun of some sort.

NO.....why on earth would you spend your hard-earned money on somebody who is going to model the clothes you bought her for some other man?????? If he treated her like dirt, she'd be gone. This way, she can have him, and also have somebody like you who is going to buy her anything she wants. Dump her!

No, it seems to me that you are being used to make up for the bad feelings she gets from him.... I know this girl that knows this guy likes her very much and she butters him up about how nice he is and all and he ends up buying her stuff but she doesn't want him she just wants the stuff he gets her... but she calls him her "best friend" more like her "dumb friend" to me.

So you went with a girl clothes shopping, looking at underwear, and she has a boyfriend that isn't you.
She isn't so wonderful, many other words for her, but wonderful isn't one of them.
