There are some thoughts.
1. You need something to amuse your guests - for example live music or the simplest - TVs - to watch soccer...
2. You can air games of your home team and every time it scores you give to all guests free drink (beer is good, but may be too expensive). try vodka, not everyone will drink it and it is cheap.
3. Try to suggest different beer sets - 3 L of a beer + nuts, dry meat, fish or anything else. Do these sets with a little discount to the cuisine. So you'll guarantee amount for beer sales.
4. Good staff - also is the key to the prosperity. I left two times about 40$ to the bar-tender as tips only because my glass had never become empty and the talk with him was interesting (for Russia 40 $ is a good sum)
5. The whole interior in the bar should be good - no cheap plastic tables and seats. (There are two beer restaurants near my home. In the first - the price is higher but it is pleasant to be there, and in the second plastic furniture and McDonald's colors make my seek and not only me)

Your wife aint gonna like it, but the only thing that will ever keep dudes coming in, expecially older ones is some pretty waitresses in their late twenties. Not young ones, they're no fun. Get involved with local clubs. Have a couple competitions on a week. Person who drinks out of his own shoe or boot gets the beer in it for free. Once a week hold a draw for a guy to get to drink out of a huge glass for the price of a normal one for one evening only. Each time he buys a particular beer he goes in the draw. Good way to get rid off your unused stock. Raffles for the community always go a long way with the locals.

happy hour specials always draw a crowd. 2 for 1 mixed drinks, special $2 shot of the day, $10 buckets of domestic beer, $6 pitchers of domestic beer, also, 1/2 price appetizers or wings and a pitcher of beer for $10...... draft beer has a very profitability margin, it cost you about 20 cents to pour a draft..... I used to do dollar drafts.....

There is a bar in AZ when I lived there that sold season tickets to the bar stools. think about it (for next season). the seats made you money, guarantees full house and people buying beer. plus a close connection with everyone becoming regulars! genius.
(Only the bar stools I believe were sold so there could still be other walkins welcome)

Romans 10:17 says,"consequently, faith comes from listening to the message, and the message is heard throughout the time of the know-how of Christ.(NIV)" Your faith will develop as progressively as you place your eyes and ears on the know-how of God
