There has been so much in the papers recently about milk and cancer. I am a bit confused.
Does milk cause cancer?
The answer to this is not simple, so it is easy to see how you might be confused.
Researchers and doctors all agree that diet and cancer are closely linked. And that eating a well balanced diet can help reduce the risk of cancer. What is more difficult to say is exactly which foods are most important in causing or reducing cancer risk. Studies investigating a link between cancer and dairy products have not produced conclusive results. Some research shows an increase in the risk of developing cancer, and some shows a decrease.
Recent research shows that a higher intake of calcium (which is found in diary products) can protect against bowel cancer. But some early research suggests there could be a link between dairy intake and the risk of developing prostate and ovarian cancers. For breast cancer the evidence is conflicting. A link between breast cancer and dairy products has been suggested, possibly because of the type of fats they contain, or contaminants that could be present in these foods. But evidence to support this is lacking. Another theory is that dairy products might help protect against breast cancer. But again, this needs to be backed up by firm evidence. At the moment the research does not support a strong link between breast cancer risk and intake of milk and dairy products.
So, we need further research to find out more about the links between dairy products and cancer risk. A large European study called EPIC (The European Prospective Investigation of Cancer) is currently looking at the relationship between diet, lifestyle and cancer. It will produce reports on diet and lifestyle and a variety of cancers over the next 10 to 20 years, starting with bowel cancer and breast cancer.
At the moment, doctors and nutritionists recommend a healthy, well balanced diet. Calcium should be part of that diet, and milk is an important source of calcium. A healthy diet should also be high in fibre and include at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day. It is best to avoid smoking and drinking more than the recommended amount of alcohol. -

The milk hormone that is given to cows is not passed on into the milk.
There is no test for the synthetic hormone in milk because there is none in there to detect. Farmers are on the honesty policy about rgbh because of this.
There is no such thing as a milk corporation.
Each creamery is its own company, regulated by the government for safety.
It's not the nicotine that kills, it's all the additives, paper, etc. Inhaling smoke with chemicals is definitely cancer causing.
Drinking milk is good for you.

What you heard your boyfriend said is 100% true. Look in
nature. Do you see any young ones after stopping its own
mothers milk longing to go at the udders of other animals.
NO! Human beings are the only greedy animals who after
being weaned away from its mothers milk goes after other
sources but again this is because of the dairy industries
propaganda. You see none of the small kids really love plain
milk. They have to be beaten, blackmailed or emotionally
twisted to consume milk. Please remember no matter what
we cannot digest properly the milk of the animals including
cow's and goat's milk. In fact we do not need milk at all. The
so called benefits and milk being complete food etc., is a
huge propaganda after bribing the knowlegable persons to
trumphet the necessity of milk. There are many vegetarian
sources like almonds, cashews, peanuts, sesame, soya,
coconuts etc., can be utilised for milk substitute. In fact
coconut milk is reputed to come closest to mother's milk.
Yeah dairy industry is also powerful like drug industry and
would definitely fight tooth and nail to come out with the truth.
Individually we should avoid milk and please not only cancer
there are umpteen diseases which are caused by milk.
Read the book MILK THE SILENT KILLER by Dr. Nand
Kishore Sharma. So think twice before you have your CUPPA
of MILK. Good luck and God bless. Cheers! :o)

The main health issues associated with milk (and largely, they are outweighed by the benefits) are concerned with the introduction of hormones into the milk for purposes of getting the cow to produce more;
Short of 'Organic' label milk, the presence of hormones is a recurring aspect of the dairy industry. Also of interest is the now-declining trend of adding antibiotics to animal feed: One interesting fact is that doing so will increase the mass of the animal consuming it. Excess consumption of antibiotics can be detrimental to your immune system, as what bugs it doesn't kill off are genetically more capable.
Finally, a concern more-often associated to excess calcium intake is one associated with the risk of depressive behaviour. One study examined the comparative role of magnesium and calcium in cases of mood or anxiety disorders. Intake of calcium seemed to increase the symptoms felt, whereas magnesium intake balanced it out again.
Irrelevant of all that, milk is a great way to get the sizeable variety of necessary proteins and minerals to keep your body healthy. If you're concerned about nutrition, but want to steer clear of chemical concerns, switch to soy.

Cows milk is more natural than soy milk, which is extremely processed. You just have to be careful about where you get your milk.

Some people are allergic to certain milk proteins or sugars, such as lactose; these people should avoid milk. For anyone else, it is a healthful source of proteins, calcium, and vitamin D.
