The doc will give you a script for an anti fungal to take and some suggestions as far as a body wash. I was told that if you sweat after taking the anti fungal pills, it works quicker. I lucked out for mine popped up during the summer...all I had to do is sit out side to sweat. During the winter will be a little more challenging.
Is it ring worm? NO, ring worm is, depending on the location of the infection: body (tinea corporis), scalp (tinea capitis), groin area (tinea cruris, also called jock itch), or feet (tinea pedis, also called athlete's foot).

The difference, ringworm is a fungal infection that shows in the shape of a ring, Tenia Versacalora shows up is small little discolored blobs (~ 1/4 inch in size) that eventually grow together....and itches like crazy!

Tinea versicolor is a fungus infection that commonly affects the skin of young people, especially the chest, back, and upper arms and legs.
Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. This fungus exists in two forms, one of which causes visible spots. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities. However, almost all people with this very common condition are perfectly healthy.
Because the tinea versicolor fungus is part of the normal adult skin, this condition is not contagious.
It often recurs after treatment, but usually not right away.
