I want to use the conditional format for this purpose.For example: i enter 50 in A1 cell.Tolerance is 10% of 100..It means if the entered value is out of tolerance.It has to highlight the entered value.If i enter 95 it means it is within the tolerance and it should not highligh.in A1 cell if i enter any number between 90 and 100 then the excel should not highlight at the same time if the entered value any other than 90 to 110 THEN IT SHOULD HIGHLIGHT.

ok
so will the tolerance always be 10% of 100?
then click A1 then conditional formatting
box 1 Cell Value
box 2 not between
box 3 90
box 4 110
format box gets highlight yellow.

can the tolerance and % of tolerance change?
A1= your input (50)
B1= tolerance #(100)
C1= your tolerance% (10%)
then conditional formatting of A1=
box 1 Cell Value Is
box 2 not between
box 3 =+B1-(B1*C1)
box 4 =+B1+(B1*C1)
fill in format box to highlight

now you can copy the numbers down the column and change them and see what you get.
