God is our Creator, and is the One ultimately responsible for all that we have. When we worship God, we don't do it with a reward/punishment mindset. Or at least we shouldn't, if we are really and truly mature in our faith and relationship with God. One of the things we as Christians do when we worship is we thank and praise God. We do this in good times and in bad times. He is more than worthy of all of our praise and thanks. If (hypothetically of course ;-) ) He somehow decided there would be no heaven as a reward, we'd still worship Him anyway - He's God, and He runs the show, not us......
Edit:
AdoreHim: Good answer - exactly what I, in my own peculiar way, was saying...... You got two "thumbs up" and I got a "thumbs down". Could be from different people - or maybe someone who's conflicted LOL
slaveof12gods: You want us to believe that a spaceship has landed, but I have a problem believing that your avatar is actually a pic of you LOL Something tells me that it's probably not.......
majeed3245: Read John's Gospel. Jesus Christ claimed to be God made man. And the Twelve Apostles including Thomas accepted Him as such.....

The bible tells us are rewards will be in heaven! Those who die for Christ and the martyrs will have rewards in heaven, Jesus said I have made all things new! We know by the testimony that Jesus is the Christ. We worship beauty and actors and musicians and people we esteem higher then ourselves. We are created to worship not the earthly things but our creator. Muslims are killing Christians. Remember what Paul the apostle said. To die is to gain everlasting life with Christ. Don't miss the chance to know Jesus time is ticking. Queen Elizabeth said before she died these words. I would give all of my possessions for a moment of more time to live. Heaven is real and you can see the evidence from God creation.

I'm not Christian but I imagine many would continue to worship. For many Christians its not about the reward at the end: its about acknowledging what they believe is the truth and respecting a power higher than themselves. After all, there's no major afterlife reward for Jews, but they still worship. My family is Christian but as there is little talk of heaven and hell I believe they would still be Christian even if there was no promise of heaven.

I don't worship out of selfishness. Besides, even when God will ask me "why should I go to heaven" I simply can't give an answer. If I knew I was going to hell next week I'd still worship because I understand who I am and who God is, but I can't say I won't be upset about it

My friend, God would be worthy of worship if there was no reward of heaven after death- because He is God. yes, I would still continue to worship and serve God because He has proven Himself to me personally to be God. I am very grateful that Christ did pay the price so that I could be forgiven, and reach heaven, however, if there was not heaven He would still be worthy.

life is a journey of the soul in the mortal realm. i guess when you leave the vessel which is your body, you leave the mortal realm and enter the spiritual realm. Just a 'rad' way of believing what happens when you die etc.
i do find it compelling and intriguing that 'life' as we know it, the cosmos and all associated vastness was created by 'accident'. What amuses me is no human being, or any living creature on this planet will ever know the definite answer to that just like you cannot possibly count every star in space and beyond.
There has to be some kind of 'supreme entity' , all knowledge baring, all mighty, the rulebook of rulebooks, could call this entity 'the creator' or 'god' depending on your liking. but i think this creator probably gets a kick out of reading questions like these on yahoo! answers. One theory i have is, its a 'game' or some kind of amusing 'experiment' , create a planet or two, create a few living organisms or elements from which life may spring forth - and watch 'evolution' take place in real time. The creator has good taste in games, as i quite liked the Sim City series myself. ooo, has that game 'spore' come out yet ? heh
hope that helps.
all the best folks

If this world were to continue and not end, and there was a creator God and there were false gods, and no afterlife, and worshipping and serving God meant that future generations would enjoy blessed lives, then it would give meaning to this life to worship and serve God who would bless the world for our obedience and not curse it for our sin.
edit:
All things considered.

Heaven is not a reward. It is a place, a civilization of non-physical beings who live in peace. Yes, I would still worship God even if Heaven were denied me. Would you not still love your children if they hated you? Yes you would indeed. And it is in this manner which believers love God. God bless you.

everybody who's the slightest attentive to Jesus' teachings might comprehend that he pronounced that the meek might inherit the earth, and that when he taught us to wish, to wish for God's will to be completed in heaven as properly as in the worldwide. The devil isn't in hell. dying is oblivion, destruction. The resurrection is a game of a guy or woman the two in a heavenly physique or a human one. on the 2nd, the devil is the ruler of each and all of the earth. consequently the subject concerns you notice. All are going to be rewarded in accordance to their deeds. The believers as properly by way of fact the non-believers. The ransom does conceal the holy ones who stay in accordance to a maximum suitable attempt existence in all holiness. Even those do no longer circulate unpunished. no one does.
