Ive read the bible a few times, but what I really dont get is why christians hate homosexuals so much. I know that in the bible it spacifically says that behing homosexual is wrong, but dont you realise how many times the bible has been translated, interpreted, and how many books have been taken out? Who's to decide whick books are important or not. But, that is besides the point. My question is, why do christians judge and hate homosexuals so much? If god did not want there to be homosexuals, he wouldnt have made people homosexual. Also, does it not say in the bible that it is not our place to judge? Does it not say that we are not the ones to say who will be damned? If god is a forgiving god, why wouldnt he forgive you for being gay? I am pansexual, and I am a christian. I have had church doors closed in my face because of this fact. Why do so many christians take it into their hands to tell me I'm going to hell for who I love, and judge me before they ever know a thing about me!

It seems to me that a lot of christians are more worried about homosexuality than about people who kill others or commit adultry, and things like that, but why???
I know for a fact, I never chose to be pansexual, I would be straight if I had the choice. Why would I choose to be mocked and ridiculed just because of who I choose to live my life with and love??

This is the second time I've posted this, Im sorry if I seem a bit irritated, this is just a very touchy issue with me. I wanted to see what people would say in this board, as well as on the LGTB board, but as Ive said before...
Pansexual means that I love who I love for their personality, not their gender. Bisexuals tend to lean twords one sex or the other, I do not.
Also, If all sins are the same, Im just wondering...
Have you ever slept in the same bed as a man while you were on your period.
What about cut your hair? Oh, did you forget that was 'a sin'?
Its all in the interpretations.
If you believe that someone will go to hell no matter what sin they commit, does that mean that you believe all guys who have ever cut their hair will go to hell, or what about the guys who have touched the skin of a dead pig, (AKA a foot ball!)

God hates all sin. He loves the sinner but hates the sin. The Bible is very clear about homosexuality, adultery, beastiality, and fornication. People who do such things cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Yes God does forgive but we must also forsake our sin.

Just because some self-described Christians presume to speak for us all, and paint everyone who is not heterosexual with a broad condemnatory brush ... don't compound the problem by doing the same. You are an individual, and I am also.
I have a sister. She has a tender heart, tells great jokes, does amazing carpentry work, cooks the best green chile ever. She is gay; I am straight. She sins; so do I. Now which of my sins is she supposed to "hate?" All of them, probably, but we each have enough to worry about with our own without also keeping track of the other's, too -- if we *knew* them, that is. The fact that she is gay is not a sin, and my church does not teach that it is. As a married woman, if I have an affair that's definitely a sin. And if my sister who is single sleeps with someone, that is too. In both cases we answer to God for it, not each other and certainly not the self-righteous.

Real Christians do not hate any person, not homosexuals, not liars, not those whose hands shed innocent blood ... all listed as 'abominations' in the scriptures most quoted by Christians on this topic. Funny how Christians don't go picketing their neighbors for telling fibs, huh? It is not our job to hate or condemn anyone, but to be a living picture of Jesus with skin on.
As far as knowing what the Bible really says, that is fairly easy for you to find out . Just look up whatever you want to know in the original manuscript, which will probably be in Hebrew.
I am sorry so many people who claim to speak for God have hurt you. Why not ask God to help you deal with it; he does love you and he is a fair and just God. But then again, if you say you are a Christian, you already know that.

I do not hate homosexuals nor do most Christians. Yes there are some who claim to be Christian and preach hate but the Bible tells us they are not Christians. For how can they love the God they have not seen if they hate the brother they have seen. However as you said the Bible is clear homosexuality is a sin. So when a Christian calls it a sin it is not judging but merely stating what God has said.
As to people being born gay let me try to show you how I feel about that. It is possible and even likely people are born gay. However this really makes them no different from any other person on Earth. I am a single male in my 30's. I am attracted to women. The temptation for me is to have sex with women. However since I am not married this would be a sin. Therefore I must resist my natural urges and remain celibate. The same is true of someone with homosexual desires. Since homosexuality is a sin they must just resist it. Not give in and not commit homosexual acts. However the Great news is that if you fall. If you give into temptation you can repent and be forgiven. Yes you need to from the homosexual lifestyle but that is no different from turning from any other sin. We all have sins that we struggle with.
As to people closing church doors in your face, that is just wrong. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. You would be welcome in my church. Yes you might hear a sermon about homosexuality being a sin. But you would also hear other things taught about. Believe me many a time I have heard someone teach on lust and had my toes stepped on.

I'm a Christian too, and I'm sorry you've had the experience that all of us hate homosexuals. i do not. i believe that EVERYONE was made in God's image and is beautiful....in fact the Bible says that. However i think where people get the Homosexuality is evil comes from a verse that says :man shall not lie with man" (not sure of the exact wording or exactly where it is in the Bible). Don't worry about being judged, God will take care of those who judge you....for they too will be judged.

I am a Bisexual Christian. I know what goes on here, and have been attacked many times by my fellow 'brethren'. But they have it wrong! They don't know the grace God has given to me through His Son. They also have a hard time interpreting the Bible.
Here, I wrote some stuff on this subject in my 360 blogs:
http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-7rEUJP4lbqSbntikbR2aAw--?cq=1&p=126
I hope that helps you to understand.
I think that homosexuals are one of the most wrongfully persecuted groups in the world. Even in the US, and especially with Christians. But I stand alone sometimes defending them as a Christian.
I would be glad to entertain ANY questions you have on the subject. I have been at this Christianity thing for over 20 years, and I finally found the confidence to speak the truth about it according to the Bible.

your question reminded me of this sad story:
Recent Heparin-induced fatalities include Jeffrey Owens, a gay man who died in June 2001 after being administered a 100 times overdose of Heparin following a stabbing outside a Riverside gay bar. The nurse had asked the doctor, a blood bank worker and a hospital pharmacist for guidance. Neither knew the correct dose, but the nurse medicated Mr. Owens anyway. He was rushed to an operating room, but died hours later. Difficulties now face a successful prosecution of those charged by police with the stabbing.
This poor guy was stabbed because he was gay
Then killed by an incompetent medical system.

Perhaps it seems you are hated, but I think not. Christianity does not encourage hate of anyone, rather it speaks out against behavior that is harmful to society and faith alike. It may seem we are more concerned with homosexual behavior than murderers, etc......but have you considered that we are only reacting to a section of society that has pushed themselves on us? You don't see murderers continually crying out "we are born this way", or "we have our rights to be murderers", or "we are people just like everyone else", etc. You see, murderers pretty much know they are sinning when they murder. They have no delusions about whether they are right or wrong. They accept the fact they are out of line. When it's all said and done even the lawyers can't usually get them off with excuses or trying to rationalize their behavior. Murder is against the law. Homosexuality is against God's law. He created humans designed to procreate.......the original purpose for two sexes. God, being perfect, did not make a mistake. His purposes keep order in the universe. When His purposes, designs, creations are misused then disorder, consequences, and grief is the result.
Churches handle these things in different ways. It is too bad they closed you out. It would have been better to try to help you overcome this. Perhaps they did and you refused. In any case, you should be able to see their side of the matter. Sin contaminates others if it is allowed to continue. The church is the place where sin can be forgiven and replaced with dedication to God. If one refuses to try to overcome habitual sin(openly refuses), then can you blame them for ousting you? When we join any group, club, etc. we should expect to abide by the group's rules. That's what we agree to when we join. If we refuse to, then why did we go there to begin with? That's not a group we fit in with, is it? Why get mad if they send you on your way......on the path you chose, not them? And then accuse them of hating you......really. Looks to me they are just choosing to agree to disagree and let you go your own way (which by the way is pretty much the definition of sin). I hope you sort all this out and come to your senses. Realize you, like everyone else, are a sinner and repent and come to God. God bless you.

The interesting thing is that what most people don't seem to realise is they are not living just one life. We re-incarnate hundreds and in some cases thousands of times. We come back as all the types of people that exist and that includes as a gay person.
So when we critisize someone else we are really crticizing ourselves. We are not separate from each other and we are not separate from GOD - we are all one, all made of the same "stuff", and at some time have had all the experiences we condemn of others.

While I don't totally agree with you on everything you said, I agree with your general idea. Surely murderers and rapists are worse than homosexuals? Why the emphasis on homosexuality? Honestly, from a practical point of view, I see nothing wrong with it, but I'm having difficulty reconciling with Christianity, especially with the questions the Bible doesn't seem to answer: *Why* is it wrong? And why does it still apply today?
By the way, I'm just curious, what exactly does "pansexual" mean? I looked it up at dictionary.com, and it was kind of vague.

I don't gay people at all. I think that it is wrong, but I have a couple of friends who are gay, and I do not them. I simply accept them. As for all of the politics about the issue, I really don't wish to go into that on this board. If I did, I would be in the politics section today.
