It's been over a year and a half since my foot was run over by a pallet jack, working in a warehouse temporarily. The doctors have run nerve conductivity tests, MRI's, x-rays, everything under the sun and cannot find out the problem. I am not able to walk on my entire foot, just between the 4th and 5th metetarsil (sp?) the nerve is very sensitive and stings or gives a "stepping on a nail" sensation. I also have difficulty sleeping on my right side. I currently take approx. 4, 7.5mg hydrocodones a day to cope with the pain. They are telling me this pain is something I will most likely have to live with. We've tried accupuncture... everything... I'm exhausted, but didn't know if anyone made had any thoughts... thanks for your help.

i've seen 3 different podiatrists. i work 40 hours a week as a delivery driver because my doctor sent me back to work on 'restricted duty' saying it wasn't an injury threatening enough to not work... boy was he wrong. i've got an attorney trying to get this **** worked out, the only option i've been given is to have a surgery to remove 'possible scar tissue' on the nerve in that area of my foot. but surgery would only cause MORE scar tissue...

First of all I think your going to the wrong kind of doctor. You should see a neurologist. See what he says, in a pain clinic if you have that around you is best.
I have a "Medtronic spinal implant" for damaged spinal nerves in me. My daughter is a surgical nurse in a large hospital, she just installed an implant in a ladies ankle due to a crushing injury.

These implants are being used more and more for pain instead of drugs. I suffered for 14 years and tons of drugs for the pain I've had.
I can now adjust the level of tolerance I have from day to day with a control unit.

See your neurologist and ask him for an evaluation and about the "Medtronic stimulator" made in Minneapolis , Minnesota.

DO NOT PULL OFF the nail - You could injure the nail bed and a new toe nail will not grow back - Do as you said - put neo on it and bandage it so that the nail bed is protected - and nothing will rip the nail off. I won't kid you - it is going to be sore as heck -- and you might not be able to put weight on that foot/toe for a few days or weeks. Wear a show that will protect the toe from getting bumped -- even if you have to borrow a bigger shoe - or buy a cheap shoe 1 or 2 sizes bigger to wear on that foot. Once the nail bed has hardened - you may be able to cut the nail back where it won't snag - or it will come off naturally as it grows out - OK - You need to wear steel toed boots or shoes if you are around heavy equipment -- plus, since this happened on the job -- you should be covered by Workman's Compensation -- and your medical bills should be paid for -- You need to report the incident to have it on record. If your toe gets infected - you might need to see a Dr. - if there is no report - you can't prove it happened on the job. Also - I don't think this would necessitate a hosptial visit - maybe a Dr. Office visit should the nail need to be removed or whatever. Soak your foot in warm salt water every night to help keep infection away.

What kind of doctors have you been seeing?? your foot is almost broken stop walking on it for a few months. If you don't do this your body will do it by itself the pain is going to your spine and eventually you will lose feeling of your legs.

I would see a podiatrist to see if they think a special made insert can help or not. They will also recommend the proper shoes to help you. Your next step after the podiatrist is to see a pain management doctor.
