That's a load of bull-
The reason there are so many atheists on here from a Christian background is because this site is designed, and maintained for Westerners. And what is the predominant religion in Western society? Dun Dah!
That's why you see no Hindus on here, but plenty of Jews, Christians and us good ol' atheists.

Muslims are fearful of leaving their religion because the penalty is death or imprisionment . People who practice the religions of India usually keep some adherence to their religion for cultural ties and also to avoid family conflict even if their belife in the god(s) is weak or non existant . Jews are similar . Buddhists are Atheistic .

Christianity is the most common religion in the Western World. Unless you can back it up with global statistics, that is a really useless comment. Hindu-raised atheist here, btw.

Properly because there is more of em.
By the way, how do you know that more atheists come from Christian families. Is your info the result of a study?
Because I have always wondered why so many atheists come from atheist families.

Where did you get this statistic?
My suspicion is that you don't have the data to support this claim, but that it appears this way to you because people in this country, if religious at all, identify predominantly as Christian.
