I do when people have a serious problem. When they ask stupid questions like who's the prettiest of us all or what football player has the longest hair??
I mean come on. I'll even do your homework for you, but stupid is just that, stupid!

Just so I don't forget, there are two people I know of on here who keep asking the same questions over and over and over again. This chick keeps asking about her giant hands and this guy keeps asking if he has a big nose. Now I've been on here for a month and I work and keep reading these questions over and over and over.. I mean people please, we don't care if you have giant hands...

I know I do, because I check and re-check my answers before I submit.

I also scrutinize the questions before I begin to answer.

So far, this process I use only gets me 11% Best Answers, and I'm trying to improve upon that, but it still hangs around that number no matter how hard I try.

I find that I have solid information to offer on certain subjects, and then I may goof off a little just to ease the tension...here and there.

So many have casual or insignifcant questions, and answer without giving much thought.

I try to keep it on the straight and narrow, most of the time.

I use this as a means to keep my writing skills perfecting, hoping that I would be quoted or perhaps desired by professionals.

Just look at what author J.K. Rowling did with just seven Harry Potter books. Mind boggling.

It appears to be a giant chat room filled with kids trying to get homework answers or asking and answering dumb questions, board adults looking for things to burn up some spare time, and a few people here and there actually trying to ask or answer things seriously. with that in mind, I would say about 15% are serious. The rest are just dikkin around. some of it is fun and entertaining as well ;o)
Of course some is just down right stupid ;o(

I can't speak for others, but I do....... Y!A is a time killer and a good place to have fun but as someone else said there's no point in wasting YOUR time in typing a silly or even inaccurate response.... sometimes I find really dumb questions and I just skip them and try to find something else that makes sense. Of course if you go to Polls they aren't expecting "serious" or "heartfelt" answers in there, just a quick short reply to their surveys.... but if you go to Family & relationships, or Pregnancy, I think people ARE searching for honest answers and so I try to provide them.

I try to give good answers unless the person asking is being a jerk. My husband tells me I should not answer anyone because someone might listen to me and ruin their life. I try to state my answer as to what I would do if I were in their shoes.

I don't pay attention to researched or mechanical accuracy, but I definitely speak from the heart and I believe my advice is, although unconventional, definitely worth a try.

I really believe in my non-conformist mentality. If the advice given today is so good, and the books written today are so valid, how come we are still in the situation we are as humanity?

if someone seems concerned about something i do, sometimes people ask the most ignorant questions so i give a stupid, insulting or funny answer. if the question makes me laugh, it always deserves a proper response whether it is stupid or not.

And yes there is such a thing as a stupid question.
