Keep working at school and doing your best.
Start getting physically fit; or keep working at it if you are.
Keep your mind active and healthy.
It's nice to see someone so excited about something they want to do.

well first off you should learn how to spell "MARINE CORPS" that is your first major assignment. yeah but anyway i would do a lot of running. Go to the gym as much as possible. You dont have to be a super freak and bench press 10 times your body wieght. Just be in good physical shape. Study up on Marine Corps knowledge. The more you do now the easier boot camp will be. I used to study as much stuff as i could about the marine corps before I joined. Also make sure you can run. Being a run drop is no fun. I used to run 4-6 miles a day so that the 3 miles for your pft would be a joke. Sprints help out too. Just be prepared in general.

get your body physically fit, run 3 miles every day work on your pull ups try to get so you can do 20, do sit ups, do alot of hiking with a pack weighing around 50 lbs. stop smoking or dipping if you do. keep your grades up. mentally prepare yourself for it. that is the hardest part never quit. even when you think you cant take any more dont quite. you quite then things will just get harder. also yes we are the worst paid, but you get 60 days of leave a year granted you might not be able to always take it but being a Marine is worth it. just stay away from okinawa if you can. also try to learn about disassembling the m16a2 go to an army navy store and by books on military guidlines. i think the best book to buy would be the Marine Corps knowledge book. study the Maine Corps. lean the history. we are all about our history thats a big thing in the Marines. try to get a few people to sign up if you do before you leave you can get contract PFC which is about 100 dollars more pay for when you get out. and dont trust your recruters get anything they promise you in documentation. also once you get in keep and make two copies of your orders for every where you go keep on copy at home with your family and one with. and stay out of trouble

Well firstly, being a Marine is not a single career. There are various branches that you apply for (including being a journalist etc etc). So you can think about what type of Marine you would like to be after your basic training.
Also, you should do your best to prepare yourself for the training. Get physically fit, and also read some things that might help you with the other types of training (it is not all shouting and climbing over obstacles).
By the way, did you know the the Marines are the worst paid of all the US armed services.....and you could end up going for years without any leave......

I am enlisted in the Marines right now. Well the first things you should do is stay/get in shape and graduate. Then be prepared for the toughest 13 weeks of your life man. I ship out June 23rd to Parris Island. Good luck man.

Congratulations, I assume that you have already started getting in shape. Do a lot of running and exercises ( push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups), have your social security number memorized, know your general orders ( your recruiter can give you a copy of those), and if you can find one study the Marine Corps Basic skills book.

Invest your $20000 signing bonus in Exxon Mobil stock
and pray you dont get blown up
But I mean the construction industry is so dead it sounds like great money. If the US would attack Sudan or Burma I might join.
Ok not Exxon Mobil
Did realize how many people despise them.
Northrup Grumman is a great stock
Or maybe the Euro Forex
