No problem what so ever. I have bought 223, 9mm, 10mm, 357 and 45 from out of state this year.

No limits, I bought 1000 rounds of 9mm and about 1,000 rounds of 223 from Sportsman's Guide in one batch. The Feds say that the Internet is tax free but California has 'fair use tax' which means they disagree and they'll ask you to declare any out-of-state purchases that you didn't pay tax on... most people ignore that. Fees are just the normal shipping fees. It's worth shopping around for a place that includes shipping or at least gives you a good deal. Cabela's don't even require a signature on delivery, so I cam home one day to find 100 rounds of 300WSM and 100 of 7mm Rem Mag sitting on the doorstep. Funny old world.

Right now buying ammo is legal in most of California over the internet. There are several counties that you cannot like Los Angeles county and San Francisco county. The website you buy from will know when you enter in your zip code. I do not know if you will be able in 2017 though. I am trying to find that out

Nothing is legal in California. It would be easier to move to another state and buy the ammo there.
