Why would he? Why would he? I thought he loved us. I thought he put us before all his creations. If you read the bible he had no problem intervening for jews all the time, now the christians need a little help and he turns his back on them? Wow, how important do the christians feel right now? The bible tells us, <---I here this as proof all the time. Will you please stop quoting scripture as a proof, as it is simply a contrived book, assembled carefully, by powerful men from in a time when people were ignorant enough to buy it. God didn't stop the church shooting in Colorado, because if he does exist, the one thing he has demonstrated time and time and time again, is that he does not interven in our affairs. If you don't believe that, watch the news and see how many innocent children are slaughtered gangland style just tomorrow in just america, by their own frickin parents!!! God? But he loves you. Tell that to the children he will let get the heads blown off tomorrow, and the next day, and next week. People need to stop using god as a crutch, and start taking responsibilty for their own behavior. If God exists, he doesn't care about you, he will let you fail, he will let your friends and family suffer, and die, and ultimately he will let you suffer and die. The only concrete conclusion you can come to is that he doesn't love you if he exists at all.

You would think that a church would be a safe haven from harm, but I guess not. That church was involved in a big scandal recently with one of their leaders. The shooter had been involved with an affiliate of that church somewhat. He was into the evil type rock and roll music and listened to it incessantly. I read a comment he made by doing a search on his id, nighmrechld26, after reading it in a news statement. They may have closed the side by now. He also used dyingchild_65, that site is closed. Supposedly the FBI was notified the same day from someone reading his comments. Too bad they were not notified sooner. It shows the importance of taking erratic talk seriously on some of these forums and perhaps reporting the incidents to authorities and how satanic type music can affect an individual. He was probably literally "possessed.".

all I even have 2 say is this might desire to be a warning that PPl from everywhere choose 2 evaluate salvation and not take that gently. If U may be killed in Gods abode photograph no longer following him and assembly your maker unsaved. This prooves theres an greater devil out on the loose, AND THE devil doesnt care the place he does his job-He in elementary terms has see you later 2 take as many lives as he can-yet that doesnt mean he can take their soals-that determination is up 2 us all- the place we plan 2 spend internity. Heaven or Hell- this occasion further dimenstrates How have been residing interior the cases of conflict between sturdy & Evil.

For the same reason Santa Claus didn't come down my chimney. Grow up! Fairy tales are for childrten. This gunman is one tiny example of the horrors that happen every day. Why would an adult even entertain the notion of some being who is omnipotent, omniscient and full of love for his children who intervense to stop suffering when there is NO evidence such a being ever did a thing to stop much worse horrors- wars, terrorism, etc.
In fact, some of the WORST atrocities are committed in this fictional character's name- 9/11 being but one of millions of examples.(George Bush , by the way, claimed Jesus gave him the go ahead for the desdtruction of Iraq, which, unbeleivably hasn't produced a strong reaction of outrage from ALL Americans, even supporters of the war.) This puts him on a level with bin Laden and ALL past rulers who committed atrocities sanctioned by their awful 'Gods' jesus and allah among others.
The quest for knoweledge of spiritual matters cannot even BEGIN as long as you talk about a magical tooth fairy-santa-god-allah-etc- you WASTE your precious life beleiving the hideous lies of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic terror machine and start thginking for yourself.
Sure it is comforting to beleive in this personal god, but your very question contains the answer. "Life is suffering" was the first Noble Truth of a very wise man who refused to sugarcoat the reality of human existence. (The Buddha, who refused to answer the question, Does God exist? He claimed he taught releif from suffering, and questions like the existence of God or the soul produced endless speculation, but in NO way contributed to the end of suffering.)
Compare:
1.- Christianity: -When Lazurus was dead, Jesus said, "No problem- we had a lunch date- I'll just resurrect him!"
2. Buddhism: --The woman Gotami's child unexpectedley passed away. Distraught, she pleaded with the Buddha to bring him back. Buddha told her to bring him a mustard seed from a house where nobody ever died. After awhile, she accepted the Inevitable, inexorable fact that whatever is born dies. She became a disciple of the Buddha, and the story doesn't sday, maybe she someday experienced the Great Joy that the Buddha taught was available to those who accept reality without sugar coated BS and reach the shore where suffering is transcended by going beyond sickness, old age and death through the understanding that it is the body and mind which experience those states, and that you are NOT the body and mind, but eternal bliss, consciousness and joy that existed before your body came into existence and will continue after the body retutns to its molecular components and mind and ego and personality return to the Source from whence they came.

There are several reasons. It could be to show how evil the world has become, a possible warning. But I think there could be a lesson Involved. But there going to to heaven. The the perpatraitor is going to hell. I think it also show that evil will always exist some form or another.

Well, I beleive that this was a mistake that the shooter made. God wants us to learn form our mistkaes. Without god, we are weak, and obviously, that person was with out god. Also, ONe thing to think about, he first flooded the earth, but promised never to do that again, will the next great flood be a flood of fire?

When something bad happens, what 'good' does blaming God really do? To do so assumes that God has given each and every person absolutely no control over any action whatsoever, which begs the question why anyone should bother in the first place.

I remember a joke about a guy floating in the sea after the ship he was on sank. He was holding onto something and praying for God to save him. A lifeboat came by, and one of the passengers said 'Climb aboard, we have room for you.' The man replied, 'No thanks, God will save me.' The lifeboat passed and the man continued to pray. Again, another lifeboat floated past, and another passenger said "Come on, we have room for you." Again the man declined, saying once more that God would save him. A little while later, another lifeboat came by, and the a passenger said "we have room for just one more, come on." Again, the man replied that God would save him. Eventually, the man drowned and was taken up to heaven. He stood before God and said "God, you said if I had faith and believed in you, you would take care of me. Why did you let me drown?" God replied: "You weren't paying attention, I sent you three lifeboats."

If you refuse to pay attention, is that God's fault or your own?

If you see a man with nasty shaggy hair, it doesn't mean that barbers do not exist. It just means that he is choosing not to go to the barber. Man has free will and is not controlled by God. If events of this nature happen, they happen because of someone that doesn't seek God, not because He doesn't exist. Wow there are a lot of atheists on here.

Merry Christmas!

Everything happens for a reason.

We are sent to earth to perfect our souls for God. That means that we experience the good and the horrible.

The same reason He didn't save my brother and his best friend that night they went fishing. The same reason why He didn't give my grandmother a few more years so she could see me walk down the isle. When it is someone's time to go, its there time, regardless of what we want.

And that evil man who did that, he will get his. I believe in Karma, so he will reap what he has sewn.

You know, this question comes up a lot, but then I see this other question when someone complains, 'Why don't you Christians keep your Jesus to yourself and let us be, we don't want or need your Jesus.' You see my friend, people want it both ways, they don't want God in their lives and then when the lack of true Christian behavior is lacking and "evil" flourishes, these are the first ones to point the finger. My answer for these people is, God will step in when YOU step up.
