im still 16 and i have a minimum wage job but I have been wondering about my taxe return. I claim zero but does that mean I'll be getting ALL my money back or will I still have to pay them as much as a non-minor would?

Anyone who earns money pays taxes and must file a return, If you are claiming single and zero you should get money back when you file your return, you won't get all of your money back but you should get some back

Don't go to a tax place to file your return they will charge you a minimum of $50 to do basic HS math and file your return. When you get your W2 go to the IRS website http://wwww.irs.gov, and click the efile link. You most likely made enough that you won't have to pay to efile and you get your money fast.

As a minor you are treated just like anyone else. If your total income is under $5350 for the year you'll get it all back, otherwise you'll pay some tax so they'll keep some of what was withheld.

1. Before you file your tax return, find out what is your filing status. It may be Single Dependent since your parents can claim you as dependent. If they can claim you as dependent, you don't get your personal exemption. Before you file your return, It is always better to discuss your filing status with your parents.

2. For Single dependents, you must file a return if any of the following apply.
• Your unearned income was more than $850.
• Your earned income was more than $5,350.
• Your gross income was more than the larger of: $850, or Your earned income (up to $5,050) plus $300.
• Your self employed income is $400 or more.

3. Even if you don't meet the filing requirements, you should also file tax return if federal or state income tax is withheld from you paycheck to get the tax refund.

If you make under a certain amount during that year, you don't have to file, otherwise if you do, you'll end up having to pay taxes. If you make above that certain amount, then yes, you can file for a tax return. Just check with your state to see what that limit is :)
