I seem to recall that most dinosaurs were early Southern Baptists...with a few Roman Catholics thrown in.

During the creation days, earth was slowly transformed to a world for human habitation. After Jehovah had decreed that there was to be waters and land, you can imagine what the land looked like. It was a fully overgrown garden, that had to be cleared. Most likely, Jehovah needed animals that would feed of these huge plants and trees and thereby preparing the earth for its future inhabitants. Dinosaurs were the ideal animals; they were big and had a healthy appetite. Dinosaurs may have been created at the end of the fifth or during the sixth creation "day". When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life.

If by "creation" you mean God's plan, I doubt anyone serious will be able to help you.
What is the "purpose" of humans? For that matter, what is the "purpose" of cats (except to get underfoot, whine for food, and give no love to their owners)? Look at the majesty of the universe, the fact that many of the stars you see in the sky burned out long before man first walked on this planet, and realize that just maybe there doesn't have to be a purpose to anything. It just is.

Possibly the herbivores were created to control the vegetation and then the carnivores were created to control the population of the herbivores and then the flood wiped them out. I am not positive but I noticed during that show that they were trying to push the THEORY of evolution so hard that they were missing some pretty obvious stuff!

There was no purpose to them, at least not any more than any other clade of animals. In general, their "purpose" is to get their genes into the next generation.
Dinosaurs aren't actually extinct, just greatly reduced in diversity (they live on as birds).
Oh, and don't get me started with the whole creationism stuff... Oi!

Interesting question. Did you google this or ask an elder in a Kingdom Hall? I would suggest both.
I am interested to know also, but I have an idea.

Probably for the same reason that horses, cockroaches, whales, snakes and any other animal is or was roaming the earth. Evolution.

There is no purpose to any life. Dinosaurs evolved that way. Pretty simple really.

There was no exact purpose, they evolved from sea animals that became land based. Evolution never stops.

I'm not sure either....but I think they're fascinating creatures, and would absolutely LOVE to see them in real life.
