Christians don't believe in giving up for any little reason that comes along--to persevere through the bad times, realize that your partner is not perfect. God expects you to forgive and have a patient and loving heart.
But at the same time, God does not expect you to suffer at the hands of someone who abuses you, and constantly is forsaking his marriage vows to be with other people.
You really have to discern

We don't condone it but we realize that it happens for a few reasons. First, no one should have to endure violent, physical, or emotional abuse. We mean serious problems, not anything trivial. Next, we admit that sometimes a spouse will wander or cheat. Adultery has long been a permission, but not command, for a divorce if there is no reconciliation. The divorce shouldn't be something the believer wants, as Paul's instructions imply.
Finally we have the case of two unbelievers marrying, but one later becomes a Christian. We see that if the unbeliever stays with a believer, the marriage should be kept. On the other hand, if the unbelieving spouse leaves, permanently, because the other spouse became a Christian, the believer is not under any other obligation. He or she becomes free to re-marry but only in the Lord.
Forgive the rather long answer but I wanted to be complete.

God hates divorce, but he allows it to protect innocent children and spouses.
Christians are allowed to officially end their marriage if their spouse is cheating on them. The cheating is what ended the marriage, the divorce just makes what the cheater did, official.
Christians are also free from the bonds of marriage if an unbelieving partner departs.
Divorce is always sin but its not alway sin on both parties. Often one is the innocent party and one is guilty.
As I understand the Scriptures if a believer is allowed to seek a Divorce due to an unfaithful partner ( unfaithful by cheating or leaving ), then that Christian is free to re-marry again, but only to another believer.

They must. In the USA, they have the highest divorce rate of any religious demographic.
Interestingly enough -- atheists are amongst the lowest rate of religious demographics.

They have no choice, it happens. It's a fact. Whetehr they agree with it is another question. I suspect that they don't because they seem to believe that making themselves and others miserable brings them closer to god

Divorce is not God's best. It is allowed because of hardness of hearts in one or both parties. Divorce breaks the type that represents Christ and the church. Jesus said that He would never leave us or forsake us.
