Your choice can only be made by your inner heart. My choice is no religion. Spirituality follows the common sense aspect of a higher power and the earth being a sacred gift we've been given. Sometimes religions become involved in politics and that is a huge mistake. My beliefs are in Shamanism, where an individual prays in a sacred place of thier choice, be it in a field , by a river, or in a bedroom. If you read up on all religions, it will take a long time. Good Luck, Be Good.

That is the same as asking who you should vote for or what profession you should try to go for. Our opinion about what religion you should follow doesn't really matter, the most important thing to discover is which religion do *you* want to follow? Anyone can tell you why they thing their religion is right for them but only you can decide which religion is the best for you. If you are unsure of which to follow then take some time to get to know as many as you can, make note of which interests you, and then follow up further on those. Maybe you will decide that none are what you are looking for, or maybe you will find one that is right for you. But you will never know unless you are the one that looks around at what the world has to offer.
Blessed Be )O(

Thanks for asking.
It's fairly simple. The oneness of all life can only be fully realized when false notions of a seperate self, one whose destiny can be considered apart from the whole, is forever destroyed.
If you hold a cup. And within this cup, there is pure water. And settled at the bottom of this cup is dirt. No amount of pure water can be poured into the cup to restore the cup to a state of only pure water. The cup must first be emptied. Only then can it hold purity.
Being for or against is the minds worst disease. Having any expectation prevents the mind from being in its suchness. Once you become devoid of everything outward, inward things become pliable. The living void stands just inbetween this and that. There is nothing it opposes or excludes. It is never for or against. Make a hairbreadth difference between the two and heaven and earth are set apart. Achieving moments of this perception could take lifetimes.
But true suchness lies not in momentary lapses of perception. But in a constant awareness. In a state of awareness that neither condemns nor approves. There is no actor but the action.
Get lost.

that's something you really need to decide for yourself. everyone has their own beliefs, but no one can prove or tell you that theirs is 100% better than another. there are flaws with every "religion."
people can believe fully in their hearts and try to tell you/show you why theirs is the "best and true religion," but there will be ten other people who can tell you/show you why that's wrong and another way is right. it's a vicious circle and is really a personal decision. you have to find something that you can believe in and follow, and it doesn't always have to be to the extremes. for example, agnostics believe that their is something out there, but that there is no way to know for sure. christians on the other hand, believe 100% in every word of the bible, Jesus, etc. so it's up to you to decide.

There's no "should" about it! It's an objective, personal decision. If you want to follow some kind of religion, just research (there are hundreds!). I guess if you already have a religion it'll be a case of conversion to a new one.

Well, let's see.....was the Messiah a "christain"....and if so, which denomination was he?? Hmmmm
Did he go to church on sunday? Did he celebrate christmas and easter? did he eat pig? Let's see now....He went to the Synagouge, as was his custom on Sabbath (not sunday) and read scripture...which scripture? Not Matthew, Mark, Luke or John...they weren't written yet...how about TORAH! He celebrated the "Feast of the Lord" ( not jewwish feast ) and he kept Kosher, just like God had commanded EVERYBODY!
And if God is the same yesterday, today and forever, then I think all those things still apply, either that or he's a LIER!!!

I can give you a few guidlines of what to look for.
If you want the true religion, make sure everything the religion claims, as their teachings, comes from the Bible. Not doctrine or tradition. God's word should be the guide not a religious enclyopedia or a list of tenents.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) . . .All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
Ask who ever is teaching you, to prove it from the Bible. If they hem and haw and refuse, then you know they are teaching lies.
One example: Mary Mother of God. No where does the Bible teach that.
God did not have a mother, Jesus Christ did.
Thus that goes onto another doctrine, Jesus and God are a triune god.
(John 17:1-5) . . .Jesus spoke these things, and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you. . . This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. I have glorified you on the earth, having finished the work you have given me to do. So now you, Father, glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.
How about the leaders of the religion, do they get paid? Jesus said "You recieved free, give free." Spiritual teaching and instruction should cost no one any money.
Other wise the scripture where it says, "God is not partial," (Acts 10:34,35) would be a falsehood, because the poor wouldn't be able to afford the true sayings. Thus God, through Jesus, teaches that spiritual instruction and spiritual light are free and to be shared freely.
How about the condition of the dead? Does the religion teach what the Bible says about that?
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) . . .For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.. . .
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) . . .All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going.
(Psalm 146:3-4) Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish.
Is the religion teaching some eternal torment for a few years of sinning?
(Romans 6:23) . . .For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.
How about a fancy sounding title or being made to call the leader Father?
(Matthew 23:9-10) Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is YOUR Father, the heavenly One. Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for YOUR Leader is one, the Christ.
How about showing love for each other in the entire religion? Not just the local few you personally know, but the earthwide organization?
How couold a true religion promote war and pray for 'God' to be on their side when Jesus clearly says what he does at John 13:34, 35?
(John 13:34-35) I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”
How about the command for all of Jesus followeers to be preachers of the good news of God's Kingdom?
(Matthew 28:19-20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”
I have touched on just a few of the truths, that the true religion will be teaching and doing.
True religion and being part of it, requires study of the Bible, it requires a person being willing to submit to God's will, and leave their will in second place. There is no blindly serving the true God, He wants you to know full well what you are doing and believeing.
There is no mystery in the true religion.
I have studied the Bible a lot, and been down many different roads.
I found the true religion, I was taught the Bible, and any question I had, were answered from the Bible.
I have never had to pay the teacher, or the elders of the religion for anything. Not even for a funeral or a wedding they perfomed. I didn't even have to rent the building these were in.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I have seen the falsehoods of other religions, but when I learned what Jehovah's Witnesses taught, I knew it was the truth.
The Bible was the main source of teaching me, and is still my main source of learning.
Now all of this being said, if you do not want the truth, but you want a slipper religion, one that slips on easily to your lifestyle and desires, then being a Jehovah's Witness will be uncomfortable for you.

Hello there . I have found that I am better suited to spirituality not religion. Setting foot in a Christian church is a lesson in self control for me. I have been called various things...spiritualist, christo-pagan, pagan you name it. I study all. I believe in God, Goddess and Jesus. I am an odd ball I know but I feel so much closer to God this way.

SINCE you are asking for MY opinion... I recommend a "Bible Based Christian" religion. As for the DENOMINATION... mine is Lutheran. However, this may not suit everyone.
If you are unsure of which denomination "fits" you AND is a "Bible Based Christian" religion, I would refer you to the Billy Graham's website. They work with many churches and denominations, but they are all "Bible Based," and are located worldwide. They will be glad to help anyone find a church to join.
Have a blessed day.
