We are born without it. Religion is an embraced belief. We certainly don't NEED it, but it does give some people a purpose. But so many people corrupt the words of Jesus and such. It's sad. I'm not particularly religious myself. At all. But I dig his words and try to live as a decent person, helping others and whatnot.

The problem is that people took his words and created an entire belief structure instead of just embracing it and bringing it into their own actions. Jesus was a man. And he was a good man.

Now we have this.

We don't really need religion. If you do things for the good of mankind and to better society, then you have fulfilled his words.

“I CAN be good without being religious!” That is a common sentiment. Many honest, compassionate, responsible people are not attracted to religion. For example, few Western Europeans are churchgoers, although most say that they believe in God.* Even in Latin America, a mere 15 to 20 percent of Catholics go to church regularly.

Like many others, perhaps you feel that religion is irrelevant to a better life. Possibly, though, you are also aware that decades ago, in your grandparents’ day, most people were much more religious than they are today. How did religion lose its widespread appeal? Can a person be good without being religious? Is there a religion that can benefit you?

peace and blessings be upon you
This feelings come from heart didn't know the God or feel the meaning of the faith.
Whatever who are you? or what religion your family belongs to? You are now brave enough to say i am not convinced.
The problem is not in the religion but in the truth of the religion.
The Religion which made by the God , without modifications from human , it is exposed to be our corriculum in life , which maintain our happiness and peace.

Yes we could, there are too many false religions out there. All we need is the Bible, the only true book. God is the truth.
