I haven't drunk for a while and will be in few days. How can I avoid to be very drunk? I will be drinking beers. Please don't advise not to drink because it will not happen.

According to the Alcohol Server Training eating will actually work against you. If there is food in your stomach, you are unable to start processing the alcohol. Your liver can process 1 drink (glass of wine/beer/cocktail) per hour, so if you slow that process down it will hit you harder than you would have on an empty stomach. The best plan of attack is to drink lots of water, and to pace yourself. Avoid drinks with high amounts of carbonation and caffeine, and try to stick to the same type of alcohol all night. Mixing tons of different liquors/beers will end up making you more sick. Also you can nurse your drinks, just having one in your hand will be enough for people to feel that you're partying with them, nobody says you have to take a beer bong to have a good time. Make sure to plan ahead, so that nobody leaves the party as a drunk driver, get a cab or a DD.

Not many people know this but if you eat a large meal before you drink, you will still reach the same ultimate stage of drunkenness. The only the that the food will do is to slow down the process, which obviously is still a good thing. The best thing you can do is to alternate between whatever alcohol you are drinking and water. LOTS of water. This will also help in the long run because if will make you fuller and less likely to drink more in the end of the night. Also, try to avoid switching between different types of alcohol as much as possible.

It is very easy to avoid getting very drunk. DRINK VERY LITTLE! Don't succumb to peer (beer) pressure. Have a beer in your hand but don't drink fast to try to keep up with anyone.

If you are at a bar, buy a round and get yourself water or club soda with a lime. The lime will make people think you have an alcoholic beverage. You can also decline more drinks by telling people you are driving. Anyone who gives you crap about being a sissy for not wanting to drive drunk is a horse's back end and not worthy of your respect.

Or you could just get hammered and sleep it off wherever you fall! But don't [*** out first or you could be the victim of a happy face (single shaved eyebrow, lipstick, magic marker beard and mustache, hot sauce on the lips, inappropriate poses...) HAVE FUN.

Stick to ultra light beers. They're much lower in alcohol. To avoid getting too drunk, try to pace yourself. Try to limit yourself to one an hour (nurse it for a long time), and like others have mentioned, drink a lot of water.

Straight up, my method for not getting trashed is a process and it goes as follows.

-Eat two hours ahead of time. This puts food in your stomach but your body already starts to digest it so you won't throw up as easily. Keep in mind what you eat. Hot cheetos are a no no.
-The moment I start feeling really hot or getting overly friendly, I finish what's left of my beer and I'm done for the next 30 or 45 minutes.
-Food won't slow down the alcohol, but it makes it sit better in your stomach.
-Liquor and beer, never fear; beer then liquor, never sicker.
-Don't mix beers with sweet drinks. It just doesn't feel right.
-If you're full, don't drink.
-Don't drink water if you're going to throw up. If your body is going to throw up, the water is coming up with it. Force feeding is pointless. Only time can make you feel better. Once you start sobering up or after you're done throwing up is the time to start chugging water.
-If you feel it, stop drinking! I can't stress that enough.

That's from years from experience and being TABC (Texas alcoholic beverage commission) certified. I cut out all the b.s. for you.

Eat a lot at least an hour beforehand. Eat foods that are heavy in protein (meat, eggs etc). And try to slow down your drinking as much as possible.
