Please relate with these 2 vague categories:
1. Harm
2. Dependency (how addicting it is)

For this reason, if something is a little more harmful, but a lot less addicting, then it is not as bad. Personal experience in an answer would be nice, because I'm aware that there is a lot of anti-pot propaganda.

If you want to talk about other drugs such as alcohol and relate them as well, that is also fine.

Smoking 1 joint has as much carcinogenic effects as 3-4 packs of cigarettes. This is new research, and I suggest looking online.

marijuana is more "natural" and doesn't have all of the tar and everything that cigarette manufacturers add to the tobacco, but there's still carbon monoxide in the smoke, so it's still just as harmful. However, since marijauna doesn't have nicotine to make it super-addictive, people don't need it as much and may be satisfied with one joint a day,as opposed to 1-5 packs of cigarettes a day, so that cuts down the risk a little right there. I get what you mean, though. Why do they sell alcohol, which has the same effects and cigarettes, which are more addictive, but weed is illegal? Either it should all be legal or all be banned. But i guess the government makes a lot of money off of cigarettes and alcohol, but can't tax weed, or something. I don't know, but i'm sure it has something to do with money. It seems like everything nowadays does...

tobacco all the way
1) there is a great possibility to get a lung cancer
2) get addicted faster
3) harder to quit

i don't know ANYBODY who is addicted to pot.. there is no way, a person can be addicted to weed.. they might be addicted to the way pot makes them feel (a.k.a. high), but nothing else.. you can get addicted to cigarette after two times smoking one, but weed - no.
from the personal experience.. i have smoked weed in any kind possible.. started out with a shot gun and ended up hitting a gravity bong.. and unlike tobacco it doesn't kill brain cells, doesn't cause gingivitis, doesn't cause your teeth change the color, hair fall out and all that... all marijuana does is makes you feel very good for a couple of hours and gives you munches... you cant OD on it either...
i think it should be legalized in at least medical purposes.. its a great pain killer - and its not a downer, unlike xanax
anyways tobacco brings more harm then pot, without a doubt.. there is no such thing as second hand smoke, that might kill people around you.. the list can go on and on...

Cigarettes:
1.) Harm - Causes cancer and other health problems
2.)Dependency - The most addictive substance

Marijuana:
1.) Harm - Kills brain cells, and impairs a persons motor skills and reaction time.
2.) Dependency - Highly addictive, mostly a mental addiction

Cigarettes kill, while marijuana just impairs a person for a period of time. Marijuana seems to be the lesser of the 2 evils, but how many workplace accidents have come from cigarettes? How many car accidents were from a slow response time do to a cigarette?

Cigarettes kill you over a long period of time. Marijuana impairs you the instant you take it, resulting in a higher chance of getting hurt or killed, or hurting/killing another person

I am a cigarette smoker and have been told that to some, tobacco can be as addictive as heroin. On those grounds, I would think marijuana is less harmful if you only smoke one joint a day as opposed to smoking 2 pks of cigarettes a day. Not being a m.j. user, I don`t know how many hits it takes to get the high one is seeking, but I`m sure it is much less that 40 cigarettes.I am not advocating the use of dope, just making a comparison in reply to your question.

The issue of whether Marijauana smoke or cigarette smoke is more harmful is difficult because even if marijuana does negative things to your mind you don't inhale as much smoke as an average smoker would during aday. I would say cigarettes are more harmful and more addictive. The cigarette addiction is physical and chemical while marijuana addiction is mental. In other words you get addicted to being high not the drug itself.

Well from taking social classes, bio classes, and psychology classes i would have to say they all rule out that Tobacco is more harmful to your body. Tobacco is addicting were as marijuana does not have an addicting effect on people. Alcohol is also more harmful to your body than marijuana because you physically can not overdose on it and kill yourself as you can with drinking. Marijuana if anything can me emotionally addicting but if a person wants to quit they can at the drop of a hat unlike alcohol and tobacco use.

I would say tobacco are worse than marijuana not only tobacco is very addictive but the nicotine that contains is the one that kills you...slowly.
I am not an expert and I can't say I have personal experience because I don't smoke and I have never use drugs. This is just pure information.

cigarettes are the most harmful and addictive substance out there. it takes a while to kill you but they will. many say cigarettes are harder to quit then heroin. take my word for it, it's not, it's easy, i have done it a thousand times. marijuana has it's associated risks but it is not physically addictive, you can stop at any time, don't let people say you can't. most adults who don't smoke pot now have in their younger years. pot is easily forgotten as most people get older, unless they have some dependency issues. as far as harm goes, most pot smokers don't smoke nearly as much as cigarette smokers. cigarettes are known to cause cancer among other things like emphysema, bronchitis, bladder cancer (#1 cause, and it's deadly), stomach cancer, etc, etc...

if you don't smoke cigarettes, you would have to be stupid to start this day and age with all we know about them.

1. Weed's worse in harm, as I've heard - way more tar.
2. Tobacco is more addictive, as it contains chemicals (marijuana is a plant - any addiction to it is only in the mind).
