I studied war and find it fascinating (unfortunately I was not able to join the military). I don't consider my self a "war monger" per say, but i understand the potential value in war and conflict.

As for war machines... that's a tricky one, I can point to countless weapons I studied and "love", it really depends on the time period in question.

Early weapons like the "scorpion", the bow, swords and catapults of course.

Later weapons like cannons and warships.

More modern weapons like planes, tanks, machine guns even the atomic bomb are all on my list.

If I had to pick one favorite... It would have to be the rail guns of ww1 and ww2. Massive cannons mounted on rail tracks capable of firring a round the size of a small car dozens of miles and causing catastrophic damage. And there is also he "v" weapon projects of Germany (including the V-3 super gun).

but that's just my opinion.

I don't think the people who actually serve in the armed forces like war. They risk the most in any armed conflict which is part of the reason their decision to serve is so noble.

I am so glad that the few times I was shot at it was just German farmers or hunters with bad aim and single shot weapons.

If it had been for real back then the planet would be human free now.
