My suggestion would be to distract them. Entertain them and try to take their minds off of their ordeal for a while. It would be tempting to take in toys but that would depend on how badly they are burned and where they are at in their recovery. Check with the hospital to see what is allowed.

I'd suggest dvd movies and cartoons to entertain them, (most hospitals have tv's and players available to long term patients) maybe a small portable cd player and some kids music. If they are still dealing with open burns and contamination is a factor take them things that can occupy them without them touching it.

If they are recovered enough to be allowed things to play with I would take them things that either take a while or something that won't bore them to do over and over. A small puzzle can be entertaining until you've put it together a dozen times. Take them art supplies, an age appropriate video game, books, and if they're too young for those things then some activity type toys. I would stay away from stuffed animals because they can collect bacteria and aren't easily washable when you're in the hospital. Balloons might brighten them up too but check with the hospital because some don't allow them. I'd ask the dad and nurses what to bring in. They'll know what they should and shouldn't have.

Bless you for being so kind and compassionate. You may never fully know what your selfless deed does for them. Our home burnt down and we lost everything including the cloths on our backs. You can not imagine how one little act of kindness can literally change a persons life.

Great toys, books for kids, puzzles they could do, a visiting pet could also cheer them up. You have to also make sure the father is getting enough moral support from family and friends. The extended family should take turns staying with the kids so the dad can find a job, prepare a home for his kids. I'll pray for them and bless your soul for being so nice.

How sweet of you to want to help! By all means, do what you can as far as helping the dad financially...maybe organize a benefit to raise money, etc. A gift for the little girls would be appreciated...teddy bears usually comfort children, IF they are allowed to have them. Some sever burn victims are in isolation/sterile settings. As far as comforting them with words...let them talk to you. When the time comes, you will know how to respond to them. It's so sad what has happened to this family...they are blessed to have someone like you to care for them now

The last thing they will want to hear about is fire and burns.
The best way to make them feel better for a little while would be to keep them occupied with a song or story, or activity that will keep their minds of their problems, even if its only for a few minutes.

just smile and treat them (mentaly) like any other little girls. The last thing they need is to be treated differently.

existence! For that is packed with love & loss, errors & reviews, mess ups & accomplishments, shy & self belief, information & cluelessness, justice & prejudice, & finally, thoughts & what you're destined for. worry not, for demise will come to us all.
