Im Christian and it doesnt bother me.
There would be no Holidays without God as far as Im concerned.
The more likely scenario going by history is:
Person A: "Merry Christmas"
Person B: "Help! Im being persecuted!!"
Either way there are more important things to cause drama about than wishing someone well.

No!
This is an example of a "Christian" who is concerned that it is written:
"Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" -2 Timothy 3:12
And they look at their posh American lifestyle to the neglect of the hungry, poor, and homeless...and say, "Golly gee...certainly I must be 'godly', therefore I must be persecuted. Let's try to 'see' how I am persecuted..."
=
You want to know what a TRULY godly life looks like?
Consider the life of the Apostle Paul.
...and do you want to hear what TRUE persecution is?
Read what Paul went through (2 Cor 11:24-30):
"From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness-- besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation? If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity."
Or...how about the chief example, Jesus Christ.
Have you seen the "Passion of the Christ"?
And what did Jesus do to deserve this persecution?
Was it because He loved people?
Because He healed people?
Because He did not condemn or judge people, but instead helped and saved them?
Maybe it was because He was a friend of sinners...and hung out with them...ate with them, and loved them even while they were yet sinners...?

American Christian: go to Iraq, Afghanistan, or Pakistan...and openly preach the Gospel of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, as you are commanded to by God...and then, you will know what "persecution is".
The questioner has every right to laugh at and mock your pathetic example of "persecution"...as if to "justify" your un-Christian lifestyle!
And *many* Christians DO supply such "examples" of persecution in America...I have heard of ones much worse than this example coming from the lips of "Christians".
