People in pain are not the best audience, and most of them do not appreciate empty promises and threats of even more pain after death. Do they even realize that there are some places that you need to keep your beliefs to yourself?
Before anybody says it, I've never met a patient who "appreciates" being harassed while they are in pain (and I've met thousands as a medical professional and as a patient).

Did my question in any way indicate that the thumpers were either invited or welcome? NO. In fact, such an invasion without an invitation is illegal, since it violates the patients' privacy and confidentiality . If one of the patients had invited their own pastor or preacher, that would be their business, but it is NOT to be pushed on other patients. Every one that has showed up so far has been removed by security because they were NOT invited. Coming up with acceptable circumstances in an "answer" to a question that does not give any acceptable circumstances is a copout, not an answer.

They like to get 'em while they're weak and vulnerable.

I don't know about you but when Dad was in the hospital after a heart attack and quadruple-bypass surgery, I was glad when the pastor of his church came by. He didn't say much, just listened, and offered a prayer for Dad's recovery.
You may not want to see preachers around, but I'm glad he was there.

preachers are not God themselves, preachers are also humans just like you and me, and if there is a need they will seek medical help,i am surprised being in the medical profession your motive must be helping others and serving them to recover, pain clinics are open to earn money and make a living, physical therapists are also humans made by the same God. God sees us in how we treat each other. if a preacher or anyone chooses to beleive in miracles to take away their pain, where is it hurting you?

They know that when a person is suffering they are usually more vulnerable and open to suggestion. After my auto accident I was willing to grasp at any straw that was held in front of me.
Looking back I realize how silly that all was..
Have a great day my friend..

Just wondering why you never see those so called faith healers in hospitals. Seems their miracles only work on national TV with people magically selected from the audience.
I think it's another case of the religious preying on the weak and needy.

If you were heading for a bridge that was out and didnt KNOW it was out, would you HATE and DESPISE someone who stopped you and WARNED you it was out if you were on your way to a pain clinic?
I bet you would.
However, hell IS real and people do NOT want to be warned of it,they think by ignoring it, it will somehow go away.
Yet those who are there now would do ANYTHING for another chance or would GLADLY trade places with ANYONE in ANY pain clinic in ANY amount of pain.
Some of those people are glad the pastors come by and pray with them. Some of them are believers and appreciate the prayers for their healing, others are lost and appreciate the prayers for their healing,Some of the ones who are lost ALSO are worried they dont have long to live and want to put their hearts at ease. Some die hard atheist may hate being talked to by preachers, but but those ministers are just doing what GOD has commanded them to do, if they DONT do what they are doing hell will be their doom.If a person rejects our witness, we are NOT to badger them, but "shake the dust from our shoes as a testimony AGAINST them" that we HAVE witnessed to them, then go on and pray that maybe they will come to their senses.

I can't speak for other denominations, but I do know for a fact that our priest just goes if someone asks him to come. Of course we're a pretty low key denomination and don't preach fire and brimstone.

I've never met a preacher at the doctor's office. Nor did I ever meet one when I was in physical therapy.
