Just wondering how you would say "hash brown"

It appears they don't really have a word for it, as seen on this page for something similar in French:

No, the closest would probably be pommes frites-which basically means fried potatoes.
Actually, ther's really no such English word as hash brown. It's a lazy contraction of "hashed, browned potatoes" meaning chopped fine and fried : )
