no. to have ripped abs you need to lose body fat. ab fat will probably be the last to come off. you will need to eat a diet of 50% protein, 40% carbs and 10% fiber. you will need to do 30 minutes of areobics a day followed by a targeted work out for one part of your body 5 days a week. you will also have to get a good nights sleep every night to help your body recover.

You need a combo of aerobics and weight lifting. If you don't have a plan join the local YMCA and get trainer and go to some web sites or get some books.
Find some pics as your goals, make reasonable goals and monitor yourself.
