What are some things that Hatton did against Mayweather that you think Cotto could do better?

Slim chance, Mayweather speed too much for anyone in or above his weight class period. 2 classes above Middleweight and Supermiddleweight, he would eventually get crushed. Later with more weight maybe. Not being racist but Mexicans don't get knocked out, and I'm not Mexican, but it is fact. Cotto may get battered the whole fight, but at ding ding last round, he'll be there.

Well first and for most Cotto and Hatton have completely different styles of boxing. Cotto is speed, and Hatton is and inside slugger. Hatton has powerful punches but as you could tell from the fight last night all Mayweather had to do was land punches from the outside, which he made look very easy. If Miguel Cotto and Mayweather were to face each other it would come down to who has the strongest and most accurate punch because they are both very fast boxers. I believe that Sugar Shane Mosley should get a shot at fighting Mayweather too, even though he wasn't able to beat Cotto because I see that as a fight that is able to challenge Mayweathers skills. Another fight that would be neat to see is Ricardo Mayorga vs. FloydMayweather to see how mayweather reacts to a fast brawler style boxer, though Mayweather has the brains to beat him.

I don't think Hatton did anything unusual but try to make it an ugly fight and make a brawl, he was successful at it, but at the end of the day the sport is called boxing. Cotto's defense is much better, he's no Whitaker don't get me wrong, but his defense is better. Also, Cotto displayed a very stiff jab against Mosley, something Hatton rarely throws. Also, Cotto is more of a natural welterweight than Hatton and is bigger and there is not as much of reach advantage for Mayweather. Having said that, I think Mayweather would still beat him by close but clear decision.

Okay look everyone wants to see cotto and mayweather, but thats not gonna happen anytime soon, and it would be a horrible fight. On the other hand, a fight that would go in the record books would be one between miguel and hatton(if hatton can regain his composure, give em 1-2 fights)there both power punchers, hatton can brawl, cotto can jab. it would be one hellava fight + there both aggressive fighters, unlike mayweather whose defensive oriented, no disrespect.

sorry but hatton didn't reveal a single weakness of floyds so cotto needs atleast another year and a half to be able to have a chance against floyd

cotto is a better boxer then hatton but he doesn't press as hard as hatton more of a smart counter puncher but still moves to slow for Floyd and stays open for the right if they fight (please!!!) Floyd by KO or TKO in 8 Rd's.

well hatton is a goood press fighter has the heart but the other skills ...no he just needs to work on his weak points then he'll get better/cotto i hear he is slower but he has the skills if hes slower then mayweather will eat him up easy/.........

For starters I'll say he won't clinch as much and make it seem like a wrestling match.lol

Maybe a better defense? Hatton was always lacking on that and against someone like Floyd how you gonna drop your guard like that?

And he won't underestimate Floyd, the way I TRUELY BELIEVE Ricky underestimated him
