Usually, you can get those at japanese groceries. As for the recipe, it's usually just making the noodles, following the instructions of the package. The noodles you'll have to look for have to be "fresh", ie not dried. They are in individual plastic bags and are sealed. Each packet of noodles comes with stock, depending on your flavour. The most common flavours are miso and shio(salt). After you find the noodles, the toppings usally consist of already ready made stuff or just need to be boiled. Narutomaki, the white thing with the pink stuff should be easily found in japanese groceries.
This is a picture of one of my favorite flavored ramen:

IT is still in its pack and mind you, it does not have meat, only the liquid broth. You'd still have to collect each ingredient but it's worth it in the end if there are no good restaurants that make good ramen near you. Keep in mind that if there is, you're better off going there as it is troublesome to make your own ramen, trust me.
Some ramen topping suggestions:
Narutomaki(as explained before)
Char Siu(barbeqed pork)
Tenkasu(fried bits of tempura flour)
Corn(canned kernels are great!)
Green onions, chopped
Boiled egg(sliced in half)
Seaweed(nori), either the crispy one or the one that is fried in tempura batter.

Good luck

Sure you can- if you live in Los Angeles area I can tell you exactly where to go- or look online for a local Japanese grocery store. The good stuff should be in the refridgerated space and comes with soup mix, and instruction. Toppings do not come with them but you should find pre-made ones close to that area in the store. None of the toppings in the pic is something I would make on my own but we normally buy them in a package in Japan as well- oh I am from Japan

Wow, personally that's pretty crappy ramen. That's like cheap stuff lol. My mom is from Korea and my dad Japan. My mom makes excellent ramen but it's of Korean brand you wouldn't know. She gets it from an Asian grocery store.

Truthfully, it doesn't really matter what kind you buy, as long as you dont put too much of the spice that comes with it cause its high in MSG and REALLY bad for you. A little is ok though.

What matters is mixing the right ingredients. Make you have plenty of vegetables (I recommend long stalks of green onion chopped up, a small amount of shredded carrot, and that some shredded black sheet (in picture) of seaweed called "geem" in Korean"). Make sure you have one kind of meat, either beef or chicken, as well as one egg directly inputted while its boiling, causing the scrambled/garbled yellow stuff.

Makes me hungry....mmmm

That picture is of the same ramen noodles that you can buy for 16 cents and has all the... stuff.

You can try the fresh asian noodles in the produce section next to the wonton wraps, but it still has... stuff.

That's just how it goes with most prepackaged Asian food.

Try looking into making your own noodles, and use the lowered sodium sauces when possible. That's about as healthy as you can get with Asian foods.
