Haha, bibles are full of contradictions since they're man-made.
We don't have to believe in deities to love others and to live a good and moral life.

Its all obvious for some of you to come back against someone that is angry towards some Christians who try to force the word of God and his laws upon her without knowing the full details about what she went through, thats why you are all so easy to pass judgment upon her, and thats being very hypocritical yourselves. The people she knew pass judgment on just about everything she did, she had one Christian friend who would tell her that she was giving up going to church 3 days a week because she had to work, was wrong of her, another friend who dropped her for rich Christian friends was doing the same thing, and she is totally taking the religion too far, she doesnt let her kids watch t.v. and doesnt believe in celebrating Christmas like everyone else with presents or her kids are not getting presents at all even on their birthdays. So you see some Christians make the rest of you look all bad, so get the facts straight first before you all be hypocritical with your responses, about her bashing Christians.

OK then. I think that they hate the movie because the souls of the people in the movie live outside their bodies & are called Daemons, pronounced Demons. They miss the spirit of the thing over a name. Trust me not all Christians check their brain at the door when they become Christian. Sorry you have had some bad experiences.

Sorry to hear that. People who know better would understand that it isn't anyones place to judge one's personal walk with Christ. I don't know why people think they have a right to point out someone Else's faults unless they want to feel better about themselves. The same thing happened to me as a kid. I was talked about viciously for years as a child by a grown woman in church and it made me uncomfortable to be there for years. I had to realize those people are dumb and have their own issues they can't accept and that is why they feel the need to knock me, but it isn't God's fault and He doesn't approve of their behavior.
Vengeance is mine saith the Lord, I will recompense.

it incredibly is a Christian's accountability to discriminate. Discrimination and judging are 2 distinctive issues. To discriminate is to settle on although if or no longer a guy or woman, place, or element would be risky to us or consequence us in a destructive way. to decide is to settle on that the different guy or woman is the two extra suitable or worse than we are, for although reason. That being reported, The Golden Compass is a action picture being marketed to infants. interior the action picture the infants interior the action picture kill God, then get to do as they please. understanding what the action picture is approximately i've got needed to discriminate re: although if or no longer it would be risky to me or my infants/grandchildren. because of the fact scripture tells me to "shun the very visual attraction of evil" and since the glorification of killing God is evil, i've got made the discriminated determination to boycott the action picture and inspire all human beings i understand to boycott it. The "harm" of the action picture is that it disrespects God. he's my heavenly father, so i'm no longer involved in something that disrespects him. i desire this facilitates you to appreciate the adaptation between judging and discrimination. and that i desire it facilitates you to appreciate what it is that Christians have by contrast action picture.

It is God who judges, not christians. We are only told not to make judgments about who shall ascend or who shall descend. We are given the right to make spiritual judgments about day to day things. Things pertaining to the church and this world we live in. What gives unreligious people the right to remove prayer from schools? Or to remove the 10 commandments from our government buildings? To legalize gay marriage or force christians to accept their immoral behavior? This is a battle the wicked cannot win. God will win and evil will disappear forever. Put your pride and rebelliousness to the good things of God far away from you and accept Gods final victory over evil.
God Bless You.

The author of the Golden Compass writes books with the intention of bashing God and those who believe in him - with the specific goal of leading people away from Christ.... and I'm being judgmental for pointing that out. How do you feel about the judgmental government we have that tells us that smoking and doing drugs and sharing needles is bad for us? Or lead in toys.....
BTW - Don't try to live your life like your ex-friends or your current friends want you to. Live your life like God wants you to - to learn more about that, read the bible.

At the risk of offending someone, probably a lot of people, here we go. Religious people have the same tolerance problem as non-religious people. Everyone has to step into everyone else's way because it's not their own, we all have a god complex on one level or another, because we were all created in his image after all. Now I'm not saying everyone publicly displays these thoughts. Most of us are smart enough to keep them to ourselves, but all it takes is one recognizable person of outspoken beliefs to speak out on something for it to make headlines

1 Corinthians 2:15 He that is spiritual judges all things.
That judgement you would be referring to his hypocritical judgment, when somebody judges another whenever they're doing exatcly the same thing, or worse.
The bible warns of the judgement to come, and only those that seek truth shall be saved.

I have never even seen any Christians slamming the Golden Compass. The only talk I have heard about it was from atheists. I am increasingly becoming convinced that all the talk is just made up by atheists trying to market the movie.
But you think it is somehow illegal to speak unfavorably about a movie???

What the Bible means when it say you shouldn't judge, is not that you should not say what is good and bad behavior, but rather you should not offer a sentence of condemnation concerning their salvation. That judgment of heaven or hell should be left to God.
...by the way much of what is right or wrong is in the Bible.
