I finally asked this question and got the answer that serves for me: "Grace is an unearned gift." Of course I knew what 'grace' was for an ice-skater, but the truth was "The Grace of God" had no meaning to me, so I could hardly subscribe to it.
Popular logic says, "You only appreciate something you earn." But what did anyone ever do to earn the most valuable thing they have -- their own life? So this phrase, while superficially apparent, is no more true than saying the world is flat.
Then there are the arguments which say that "Free Will" allows us to deny anything. Of course it does. But perhaps that is just like lying: saying something doesn't make it true.
The best definition I ever heard of "God's Will for Man" is "The balance between faith and fear." It's just as bad to float away on a balloon of over-inflated "faith" as it is to cower in a hole of fear. Neither provide any service to anyone.
I like to think of myself (in better moments as well as bad), as being in a condition of "grace" -- being like a tightrope walker, balanced. If I accept this condition as being right for me, then I can develop gracefulness, and enjoy and even entertain others from what seems to be a challenging or even dangerous position. First thing I tell myself when I remember: look at the horizon, and not at your feet!

Yes I know about Grace. It's astounding. I got bits of pieces of it through the years but really began to understand Grace when I read the book "Gracewalk" by Steve Mcvey. An honest pastor who was willing to admit he ran himself into the ground trying to please God and then realized, God is already pleased looking at him through the blood of Jesus. Grace is like Oxygen to the true believer. You can't go forward without it.

Love and understanding are way more important than grace. If your god favors grace then he can saty away from me.

That's what God's Grace is:
Jesus Christ paid a debt He did not owe because WE owed a debt we could not pay........
Now that's mercy!

there is no justice there is no love... what christians practice is hypocricy.... and grace period is ending... karma is coming and for those who seek to practice hypocrisy it's not going to be kind.... there is a period of time where nature and mother nature restructure a plan for the future of the world and religion is the only sin.... for all gods known to the human race are human themselves and they've damaged nature enough with the practice and preaching of lies...
