The Commandments say to observe the Sabbath. This is, on the modern calendar, Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset.

Sunday gathering was done by the Apostles and was not a time of worship, it was a time of rememberance and community.

We should worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday! Many churches today have both Saturday and Sunday services. There is freedom in Christ (Romans 8:21; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:1). Should a Christian practice Sabbath-keeping, that is, not working on Saturdays? If a Christian feels led to do so, absolutely, yes (Romans 14:5). However, those who choose to practice Sabbath-keeping should not judge those who do not keep the Sabbath (Colossians 2:16). Further, those who do not keep the Sabbath should avoid being a stumbling block (1 Corinthians 8:9) to those who do keep the Sabbath.

According to the Bible early Christians met on the first day of the week, which we call Sunday.

Acts 20:7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.

1 Corinthians 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: 2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

Any day.

Colossians 2
He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

So not only can we worship on any day, we are not to judge another on which day. What a far cry that is from what is being preached today in complete confusion.

The reason Sunday is the day Protestant and so on Christians go to church and not Saturday is because Jesus rose from the dead on a Sunday morning. We observe this every Sunday through our worship.

Hello, Need To Know;

The resurrection of Jesus, and the Pentecost "experience" were typified in the Old Testament on "the day after the Sabbath", that is Sunday, according to the Samaritans, Sadducee's, and the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Because Christ's ressurection and outporing of th Spirit were typified in the O.T., they fulfilled, SO SUNDAY IS ABOLISHED, NAILED TO THE CROSS, AND WILL NEVER BE KEPT THROUGHOUT ETERNITY.

How do I know? Isaiah 66:23 says we'll worship God from Sabbath to Sabbath before Him on the New Earth--Heaven restored.

To learn the truth, early Christians met as congregations, often in private homes. (Romans 16:3-5) They thereby received encouragement and incited one another to love and fine works. (Hebrews 10:24, 25) Regarding professed Christians of later times, Tertullian (c.155–after 220 C.E.) wrote: “We meet to read the books of God . . . With those holy words we feed our faith, we lift up our hope, we confirm our confidence.”—Apology, chapter 39.

Singing was likely a part of early Christian meetings. (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

There was never any given day to attend but most likely it was arranged where the most could attend

Jesus set an outstanding example in showing appreciation for spiritual gatherings. At the young age of 12, he demonstrated his love for God’s house in Jerusalem. His parents lost track of him but eventually found him discussing God’s Word with teachers in the temple. In response to his parents’ concern, Jesus respectfully asked: “Did you not know that I must be in the house of my Father?” (Luke 2:49) Submissively, the young Jesus returned with his parents to Nazareth. There he continued to show his love for meetings of worship by regular attendance at the synagogue. Thus, when he began his ministry, the Bible reports: “He came to Nazareth, where he had been reared; and, according to his custom on the sabbath day, he entered into the synagogue, and he stood up to read.” After Jesus read and explained Isaiah 61:1, 2, the audience began “to marvel at the winsome words proceeding out of his mouth.”—Luke 4:16, 22.
So the sabbath day for us today is usually Sunday when we all of off work to worship our creator, but we should worship him any day of the week if we are able.

What J P said. Look into it. I once asked my pastor why we were doing it on Sunday and he said because that seemed to be what Jesus was saying when he arose on Sunday. But did Jesus ever say that? I can't find it in the bible.

The seventh day. On some calendars the seventh day is Sunday and on others it's Saturday. Take your pick.

In Russia the calendar week starts on Monday, but all the countries have their own preference.

The bible does not address the matter at all. First responder correctly notes the injunction to observe the sabbath; it does not prescribe the nature of such observance.
