I don't know about you, but I have about HAD it with people preaching their beliefs on others....claiming to be people of God....not everyone, just the extremist that really aren't living the laws of God...after all "Thou Shall Not Judge! " is a commandment the last time I checked.

This is an example first read the question, and find the response from "Servant Leader" then go to his profile and read his description...correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't someone that is called by "God" be accepting of someone like the DALAI LAMA? A man who doesn't preach, but rather lives by example, teaching peace, and other wonderful virtues to the world?

here's the link: let me know what you think....

Before you come back with comments about Jesus, and God, please acknowledge that buddhist do not deny Christ. They also believe in a higher God...and isn't it possible they believe in the same God, they just worship him in a more peaceful, non abusive to others way......honestly don't answer if you are narrow minded.

And please also notice, I am not slamming christians....I merely said people that claim to be of God that clearly are not living by the laws of God, aka HYPOCRITES piss me off. I have studied many religions, and have taken what I can use to better myself and continue to study, learn, and am tolerant of all people, except those that think they are holier than thou. Honestly, it's funny how FREAKED OUT...people are getting....I mean you really think if Christ were to walk the earth again he would shun the Dalai Lama, or would they walk together, teaching what they both teach, love, patience, virtue....hmmmmmm....the Christ I believe in would be hand in hand with him!

Okay, now please tell me how this is evil, or not of "God"......honestly, the narrow mindedness of the world frightens me. But hey, that's my opinion, you're entitled to yours, but please don't bash me on my own page. Thank you.

To me, I always sense a certain fear in these types of answers - some people do not trust that God is in control of all things, seen and unseen.

Our purpose on earth is to glorify God, and when we spew hatred, that hardly seems a way to honor our Creator or our Savior, and it cuts us off from the Holy Spirit when we try to dictate what God thinks based on our limited human understanding.

The question was asked "What good does the Dalai Lama do" and so those who do not have an idea of his goodness should keep silent and go in peace.

I read the link and the answer provided.

1. You are going to find preaching of some sort on a Religion and Spirituality bulletin board. That is the nature of the beast! If you want to talk about non-spiritual things, try another board. It's like walking into any church in America at 11am on Sunday morning: what did you THINK would be going on?

Yep, some people are not at all pleasant, and some are very direct. At least with the direct people, you know exactly where they stand, even if you disagree with them. No wishy-washiness there!

2. "Thou shalt not judge" is NOT a commandment, at least not in the Christian religion. The only "I'm ok, you're ok, it's all ok" religions I know of are Hinduism and Polynesian Pantheism. Judaism, Christianity, and similiar religions are very precise on concepts of heaven/hell, right/wrong, and eternal destiny. People who ascribe to these faiths answer in that fashion.

3. The Dalai Lama DOES preach and teach. He is a Buddhist monk, essentially the "pope" for the Buddhists of Tibet, as well as their recognized (though exiled) secular head of state. You can check out his website if you wish.

Buddhism is a variant of Hinduism, an ancient polytheistic (pagan) religion. The Abrahamic religions in particular regard all such faiths as demon worship. The fact that the DL is a very NICE, pacifistic, justice seeking demon worshipper makes no difference to a lot of people. He is still preaching against the God of heaven, even if he does it in a nice way.

That is why "Servant Leader" has a problem with the DL. Their respective faiths are polar opposites of each other! There is no nice way to call someone a liar or a deciever. At least I've never seen it done!

No it isn't Thou Shalt Not Judge, it is judge not lest ye be judged.....yes someone should accept the fact that the Dalai Lama has great things to say and it can actually help ones walk with God whoever He/She may be to you. Why should you care if someone tells you about their faith? If you know/believe it to be a myth then just chalk it up to talk and let it go. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of people on here have a severe double standard and can call Christians idiots, preachy, and judgemental yet the same happens on both sides. It's the individual not the religion that is wrong. Just get it right not all Christians are hateful, vengeful, meany-pants just as not all Jews, Muslims, Athiests, or anyone of any faith isn't all one stereotype or the other. You wouldn't like it if you were called a racist purely for being caucasian would you? Stereotypes are wrong period. And just to be clear Thou shall not judge is not and has never been a commandment. You seem to be perpetuating the same hate you speak of by calling an individual out. Is this what yahoo answers has come to? Personal vendettas because you are offended?

"Religious Discrimination
For a large part of the human population religion is held very close to people's hearts. Religion can be a wonderful thing but it can also cause alot of problems. People need to be able to respect that others believe differently then they do. It is not ok to push any set of religious beliefs onto others. Every religion must be represented fairly, without favoritism in society or government. Athiests and those without religious affiliation deserve respect for thier beliefs, and need to give others that respect as well."

Where do these people get off!?!?
Don't bend all out of shape just because someone gave their opinion you didn't like. "Servant Leader" answer is not as vulgar or distasteful as some atheist answers about God.
Nobody is preaching in Q&A's; people only answer what they know and believe and try to answer truthfully.
Atheist and others that don't beleive in God and Jesus Christ are the vulgarist people when it comes to answering. THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT GET OFF!?!?
Everybody GROW UP and start showing more RESPECT in answering and receiving...........

GOD BLESS! AMEN! SHALOM!

I read Servant Leader's answer and his profile, and I don't think he's judging anyone. A question was posted, and Servant Leader answered the question according to his own beliefs, and you don't like Servant Leader's answer. That's all. We are all entitled to our opinions, and this forum elicits them, good, bad and indifferent. You're going to have a heart attack at a young age if you don't calm down and keep your emotions in check.

They are ignorant for more information about religious tolerance I suggest you go to religioustolerance.org I understand why these people are like that, but, there is no on true God, is my interpretation of it, because as long as you believe in a God christian or not, it doesen't matter what your beliefs are.

In all honesty, I am so tired of the hate and intolerance here. No matter what any ones beliefs are, we are humans. We are supposed to be civilized humans. The things that are said here are sick, cruel, and horrid!

First off, Before you Start preaching about others preaching, Get your facts straight. Thou shall not judge is not a commandment. Here they are, just to prove it...

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

SIX: 'You shall not murder.'

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'
