I invited this guy I really like to join me for lunch today, at the spur of the moment. I'd never been out with him before, but I decided to be brave. He then insisted on picking up the check.

Is the fact that he accepted my invitation on such short notice and the fact that he insisted on paying a sign that he could like me as more than just a friend? (Is this "man code" for something, or was he just being a gentleman?)

it's a sign that he could like you butttttttttttttttttttttttttt

every time one of my female friends invites me to go out to eat I always pay for her, even if it's more than one, I pay for all of them =). It adds up quickly, but I just think it's the polite thing to do. and I care about them enough to do so :).

some guys think its just not right to not pay for the meal. who knows? i if knew the guy personally i could probably tell but i wouldn't put any judgments on him over it because you would have to really know him to know if it means anything at all
