I know that people say that Satan tempts us with drugs, sex, etc. but this is not specific enough as to how he tempts us.

He could use other people to tempt us, but how does Satan tempt them? Ultimately, it would originate with Satan putting ideas in people's heads himself in order to tempt them.

That's what I think.

How else could the tempting be originated from?

We are tempted by drugs. Where do drugs ultimately come from? The people who grow them. Go back in history. An example would be the very FIRST people in world history to use cocaine NOT to kill pain, but for recreational use.

If one of the weapons Satan uses is drugs, then clearly he telepathically tempted those first people by implanting an idea in their head that maybe they should use it for fun.

What do you think?

Well, I got an interesting answer to this one from a Believer, when I asked her why it seemed to be that when I talked about things I wanted to happen, they would fail.

Her answer was basically "No, Satan does not have telepathic powers. In fact, 2000 years ago, Jesus made the devil blind."

God, she said, can see in your heart and will lead you to what is best for you, and what your heart desires. But the Devil wants only one thing, and that is for you to denounce God, and his favorite way of doing this is to prevent you from reaching your best. Drugs obviously do this. But even if you announce out loud what it is that you want before it comes to be, the Devil will do all he can to put obstacles in your way so that you will be disappointed. It's like putting a spotlight on yourself on a battlefield, she said. So have faith, and keep your desires to yourself and those who truly want the best for you, especially those who share your faith -- and who are wise enough to be as discreet as you are.

Being less certain about my own relationship with God than she was, I can still admit that my own doubts (even "subconscious" ones) can choke success, or even grow into failure if I don't take the time to carefully weed the garden of my thoughts. Thoughts which are, in the end, no more or less than the seeds of what I'll become.

Stop...listening....to...crazy....people

Satan is not responsible for any of that.

People have a natural curiosity through-out history. Men pretty much tried eating everything boiling it, making it into a drink or putting it on your skin.

If one of those things works, then it becomes part of the local knowledge.

"How else could the tempting be originated from?"

Human nature stemming from curiosity. Blaming it on an invisible third party is ignorant.

We are tempted when we are drawn away by our own lusts. Satan does not have to do anything with our minds when all that has to be done is put it there and it look good to us. We do it ourselves.

Jas 1:12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. 13 And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. 14 Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. 15 These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.

That's really interesting. I don't believe in Satan at all.

We are human. We're curious. We're not perfect. So it's okay to make wrong decisions. Just because we're not animals doesn't mean that we are the almighty, powerful, sovereign beings. I think Satan is just an excuse. "The Devil tempted me!" Mmmmhmmm. Sure.

It's seduction. Satan tempts us by catering to our desires and wants. If we want power, pleasure, wealth, affection, or something else, he has the power given to angels to see through our earthly veil and discover our wants. Then he creates a an offering catering to our very wants to seduce us under his power. The seduction can be in the form of a seed in our own hearts, or through a person offering us the 'fruit'.

It is not the satisfaction of our wants that is a sin, in and of itself. It is the weakening of our defenses, in order to turn over our souls away from the true GOD. A person indulged in carnal pleasures is hardly a person meditating in the fellowship of the Lord (blessed be His name)

A person engaged in the pleasing of the senses without time for meditation and spiritual renewal can succumb to the intent and direction of Lucifer and be used by him to influence and seduce others into the cause of evil. Many so called men of God succumbed to the lure of money, power, and pleasure, and turned many away from the true GOD by their actions and examples.

May the ONE true GOD gives us strength, courage and wisdom to resist the SATAN and his minions. AMEN.

Satan, like angels, is a spiritual being, not physical.
He refused to serve mankind, considering us animals.
He tempts us by appealing to our physical appetites.
Satan communicates directly with our brains by thoughts.

Ask him. After all, he is in your head isn't he. Isn't it he you have been dreaming about all along. Haven't you always felt he was there, pushing you to the limit, driving you into places you never imagined you could take yourself. Scary places, frightening thoughts. Oh yes it is he. He is your lord and master now. HAIL SATAN!...and you say "Hail Satan, my lord." Or was that the tv you were hearing in the background? You dont even know what you just read. Actually I dont know either, what in the....heck.

The idea that Satan has the power to tempt us by getting inside our heads, is in complete violation of the concept of free will.

If he were to temp us without such a violation, it could only be by controlling our environments, which effectively makes him the god of this world.

"How specifically he tempts different human beings would not remember. that's lacking the element. that's a trivial factor." Are you daft? that's a brilliant factor! If he won't be in a position to violate our own loose will, then how is he allowed to violate others' loose will to tempt us? i understand this might come as a marvel to you, however the folk around you reside, respiratory, loose-questioning people, no longer figments of your mind's eye. If he won't be in a position to violate YOUR loose will, meaning he won't be in a position to violate the loose will of Jim down the line. subsequently, no person's loose will is authorized to be violated; it follows from this no person may be stimulated by way of devil to tempt us. subsequently, devil has no skill to tempt us, subsequently he would not. besides, how does he use medications and porn to tempt us if he can't specifically use powers of ESP to impact us, to that end violating our loose will? Your good judgment has lots of holes in it, i'm tempted to slice it and serve it with white wine.

Sure does. He can also shoot lasers from his eyeballs. He can alter magnetic fields which can make him fly. He can generate ice. He can sprout adamantium claws from his hands. He can turn his entire body into organic metal. He can teleport from location to location leaving behind a puff of smoke. He can generate fireworks from his hands. He can charge items with kinetic energy. He can control weather conditions. And so on, and so on.
