It says in the bible that Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath.

Traditions, like opinions, are well below the Grace of God.

TEN COMMANDMENTS

"SHMOR ET YOM HASHABAT LEKODSHO"
Gard the day of SHABAT=did no work- seventh
and sanctify it

On the seventh day HE rested - actually it says that on the seventh day HE quit all his work

The world was created in seven days, the bible says , the first day as there was no sun and moon is a long long day all the rest are days that have a sun in the day and a moon at night,in Hebrew they are called the second third forth fifth sixth and Shabat, Shabat - Saturday is the day of rest it is his commandment written in fire, for if you change this why honor your father and mother why not steal and how about murder

In the translation the Bible lost 90% of its meaning

The Sabbath (or Sabbat) is a weekly day of rest and/or worship that is observed in the Judeo-Christian faiths. The term derives from the Hebrew shavat, "(to) cease". The term was first used in the biblical account of the last day of creation. It was repeated, as a commandment, as the fourth of the Ten Commandments. A number of other religions have a similar practice, and the term has also been imported into secular usage.
In Christianity, the Sabbath is a weekly religious day of rest as ordained by one of the Ten Commandments: the third commandment by Roman Catholic and Lutheran numbering, and the fourth by Eastern Orthodox and other Protestant numbering.

The practice is inherited from Judaism, the parent religion of Christianity; the Hebrew word Hebrew: שַׁבָּת‎ ("Å¡abbat"[1], read in English as shabbat) means "the [day] of rest (or ceasing)" and entails a ceasing or resting from labor. The institution of the Old Testament Sabbath, a "perpetual covenant ... [for] the people of Israel" (Exodus 31:16-17), was in respect for the day during which God rested after having completed the Creation in six days (Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 20:8-11).

Originally denoting Saturday, the seventh day of the week (or, more precisely, the period from Friday sunset to Saturday nightfall), the term "sabbath" can now mean one of several things, depending on the context and the speaker:

And he raised himself up again from the dead on Sunday, which is the NEW covenant sabbath, and the universal feast day of the universal church.

According to the awesome power of binding and loosing, which Jesus personally gave to the only church he ever founded, authorized, empowered, and eternally guaranteed, a Sunday sabbath is perfectly OK.

Jesus was known to make exceptions to the traditional Jewish sabbath, even while he walked the earth.

Why all the fuss?

Cause it's more convenient. Sunday is either the first or the seventh day, depending on which calendar you use.

If there were a god, I doubt he'd worry a lot about that stuff.

What is the point of your question? God rested on THAT seventh day and sanctified/blessed THAT seventh day.

What it does not say it that he blessed/sanctified EVERY seventh day or that he rested EVERY seventh day.

We know the difference:

Rom 14:6
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
(KJV)

John 20:19
19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
(KJV)

Acts 20:7
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
(KJV)

1 Cor 16:2
2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
(KJV)
