How high of video quality will s-video support?

I'd like to buy a tower to hook up to my 37" lcd and get the full potencial of the 720p. Is a hdmi or dvi hookup my only options to do this? Recommend a good tower with a tv tuner for under a grand. No Acers please.

For HD, you can use DVI, VGA, HDMI, or component.

The best you can do with s-video is 480i
