I'm not Palestinian. Yet I think it is a great idea if Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine became one country in a peaceful process, similar to the European Union. However I don't see it happening anytime soon. There is just too much of a tradition of having a strong, but basically corrupt leader in power. There just would be too much infighting among the people who pull the strings behind the scenes about their share of the wealth. Previous attempts (United Arab Republic) have failed for exactly that reason.

Really good Question Maya, its gonna be a long post if you dont mind.
This reminds me alot of the former UAR
The Area would flourish if the various arab countries in the
Al Sham area had an economic and political union, im not talking
about the arab league something more effective.
Right now the USA funds various countries in the Middle East like Egypt and Saudi Arabia with weapons in an attempt to "divide and conquer". Pit various countries against eachother to poise them for a war or some sort of tension.
If there was such a union the USA would lose that key advantage and so would Israel.
If Syria,Jordan,Palestine and Lebanon where unified that would cause several problems the main one is fairness.
Before making onother union like that they have to learn from the mistakes of the Former UAR.
United Arab Rebublic which was a composite of both Egypt and Syria.
If i remember correctly the part of the UAR called Egypt before was having more influence and sway in the UAR and the part formerly called Syria was malrepresented causing Syria to seperate from the UAR and once again be called Syria because the Egyptian part of the UAR was abusing the Syrian part.

Hi Maya,
we are already called all Syrians.
All Syrians, Lebanese, Palestinians and Jordanians are called Syrian or Shamiyoon (Shami people which means syrians) We have very close Arabic dialects. I like the Idea so much but I think as much peace it will bring as much riot it will cause. There are for examples a lot of political issues between syrians and lebanese people. Also there will be a problem on whom will lead that "State". Some people worked on developing their country more than others. Governments and Laws should be all reassesed. So I think what they have now is good. This idea will just return people to hundrends of years ago and will not bring any good.

They would kill each other and then continue killing other people. Arabs in fight more than anyone else. They need an attitude change. Also, palestine does not exist. If so, whats the currency? Quit saying palestine. They are Israel's homeless.

I would feel good about it as a Jew. the so-called "palestinians" were mostly Syrian and Egyptian only a little over 40 years ago, so Syrian they should remain. They should also live in Syria, and leave Judea and Samaria to the Jews.
