Why don't people get that it doesn't matter how good you are or how nice a person you are on earth. The only way to "get into heaven" is to trust in Jesus and be sorry for your sins. It's impossible to be good enough for god to "let you in" because it's all about repentance. I don't see why people say things like " I believe in Jesus but I'm not sure if I am good enough to get into heaven. Im a drug addict and I killed 18,000 people." And another thing is purgatory. I totally respect catholicism but does the Bible ever mention purgatory? and I am not qualified with enough with information to be asking this but isn't worshipping the pope idolatry? God I sound like a brat. So sorry people. Another question is did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? since they never had umbilical cords and all....
And whats the big difference between the baptist and e-free churches? I've been a member at both of those and the lutheran church. so have fun answering my many questions people. luv ya! <3 MarciQ

Repentance is turning away from sin.
Sin is defined as "missing the mark" , we all do that at times. We can't get to Heaven on our own good graces only Christs saving graces.

Once covered in the blood of Jesus believers have the right and obligation to ask for forgiveness of sins.

If someone is saying they aren't good enough to make it, then either they don't understand or accept the truth of the Gospel or they are using that as an excuse to stay in their sin ridden life style.

"Goinupru"
"God repented", doesn't mean He repented of sin. He turned away from the act of destroying Nineveh.
Johna 3:10
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Adam and Eve very well could have had belly buttons, if God created them that way. He knew their children would have them. He removed a rib from Adam, adding a belly button would be easy too.

Well, to answer your question about purgatory, it actually is. The only reason you don't see it there is because Martin Luther took it out.

Its in II Maccabees, which isn't in your average Protestant Bible. Long story short, it was decided by the Jews in the year 90 AD that the seven books called the Apocrypha(including II Maccabees)by Protestants weren't inspired, but the Christians kept them in because they were in the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Old Testament that the Apostles had at the time to use. Then, Martin Luther came along and decided that he didn't believe some of the stuff mentioned in those books, and decided that they weren't really inspired because the Jews didn't perceive them as such. Hence, you've got the Catholics with II Maccabees and the other six deuterocanonical books and the Protestants without.

And Catholics do not worship the Pope. Nice try, though.

You go girl..... we are all entitled to *rant* every now and again.... and to start answering, I will give em' a try..... Some people will *never* get the the facts about *faith* and salvation, they are blinded, NOT my words, they are in the Bible.... People who do not believe they are good enough are 1/2 right, but if they don't start believing that IN Jesus they are, they will not see or be with God.... They lack *faith*, and that is what God looks at...... as for the pope and the Catholics, I agree to some point , I am just so sure about ONLY Jesus being the Head Priest and ONLY one between us and God, I just do not get the pope stuff.... sorry, no offense meant, just MY belief...... and about the belly button thing, I do not think they did, what would they need them for ??? they were NOT born they were created !!! rofl... but, I could be wrong about this belly button thing..... go in peace...... God bless

Well, you asked, so here goes.

Your answer to their dilemma is actually NOT the biblical one. Nowhere does it say that the criteria for going to heaven is "being sorry for ones sins". NO one was sorry when Jesus was dying for them 2000 yrs ago. That has NOTHING do do with it.

It isnt all about repentance either. Biblical repentance means to change your mind to think as God thinks. It does NOT mean that one "stops sinning"...gasp....tis true! If that were the case, then why does the Bible say that God "repented?" Using YOUR definition of the word, that would mean that God had sin that He had to STOP...and we all know thats NOT the case.

You are correct about purgatory...no such animal in scripture.

As to your question about the difference between Baptist and e free churches? They both have different criteria. Google them and read their statement of faith.

God didnt intend for us to haggle over denominations...He actually doesnt approve of them...any of em! He has called people to HIMSELF...not to a church made with hands that teaches a gospel of a different kind.

Purgatory is a belief that originated with the Jews and early Christians. It arose from ideas dealing with purification of the soul after death.

I will rank your rant an 8 out of 10 total... You lost the 2 points due to the rather weak ending... It just seemed to lose steam toward the end... A solid effort with a bit of improvement in staying power you could rank a 10 out of 10 in future efforts...

People don't get it bcause they live in reality.I don't believe in god or jesus, except as mythological beings. Other than the things I already said, I don't know what to tell you. Other than, you could live in a fairy tale world if that is your wish, but for me, I will stay in the real world.

well, i understand your rant, but its all assuming you believe in the bible and all that it says, so the reason for your frustration is your own unwillingness to accept people who feel and veiw the world much differantly than yourself, this is one of the unattractive qualities that christians have that they dont realize....you cannot MAKE people believe, and you also cant send them to a made up hell cause you can't deal with the facts....christians always go into a rant when they feel cornered, its cause they cannot produce satisfactory explinations....so just deal with it or become athiest/agnostic.
