Jesus is not a myth, even historians recorded that Jesus was on earth. You might as well give that one up. I would encourage you to get a Bible and read the Gospel of Matthew this Christmas season, it tells alot about Jesus's younger years, then read the Gospel of John, but just remember, we have no promise of tomorrow and the Bible says that there is only one way to Heaven and that is thru Jesus Christ, the old devil is always telling us that we can put it off and it don't matter or you have plenty of time, but the fact is we don't have plenty of time so wipe the dust off your Bible and take some time and read the book of Matthew, let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart and you will see the truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

Friend would you do me and yourself a favor? Before you expound on these preconceived ideas that you have heard from others, would you take the time to study the Holy Bible?

I think if you will do this, that you will find out some things.
1. That the Bible is Gods word. ( man did not write the Bible,God wrote the Bible) Man could not have written it and if man could have written it they wouldn,t have written it.
2. That Jesus Christ did live and he did die and he does live again.
3. That Jesus Christ does love you and that he did die , and the reason he died was to pay for your sins so that you would not hav to pay that debt.
4. That if you will receive Jesus it will be the greatest thing that has ever happened to you.

People see parallels where they do not exist. Some authors have taken Christian terminology and applied it incorrectly and inconsistently to pagan myths. One god is killed, his body is dumped into the Nile, and that's called "baptism". His wife recovers his body, that's "resurrection".
In the cults of Dionysus and Demeter, Cybele and Attis, Isis and Osiris, there was an annual cycle of growth, death, rebirth. Christianity claims to be historical.
These cults were based on "secret knowledge" hidden from those outside of the cult. Christians proclaimed that the gospel was open to all.
Cults were primarily concerned with emotions, stirring emotional frenzy that brought the members "into union with god". Christians stressed learning and believing correct doctrine.
Note on Mithra: He was "born" out of a rock (not a virgin), as a grown man. He killed a bull, he did not sacrifice his own life for anyone.

I do not believe in coincidence and I do think that there is some shadowing of truth in mythology...but the whole truth is in the bible. You must discern each of the myths to determine if its origin is evil in nature, which all are that deny Christ is the Savior. As for coincidence...nothing happens "just because"....yet there are things that happen that are beyond our control. The bible says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood (people themselves) but against principalities and powers and wickedness in high places (the kingdom of darkness that is in the world now..principalities meaning "things taught to people -- a way of thinking --that is in conflict with the Word of God).

The Wiki article does not say Jesus is a fantasy. what's presented interior the object is a concept progressed via a definite Strauss on the subject of the historic reality of Jesus. One reliable evidence of Jesus as a historic parent are the archaeological findings mutually with Qumran scrolls. There are others. Denials of the historic existence of Jesus have in many cases been tried. in spite of the undeniable fact that, NON-CHRISTIAN materials attest to the historic existence of Jesus. The statements of Tacitus around 117 (Annales XV,40 4), of Pliny the greater youthful around 112/113 (letter to the emperor Trajan), and of Suetonius around a hundred and twenty (Vita Claudis, ch. 25) are good and traditionally conclusive and we'd admit them as honest information. The Catholic Church additionally own statements via the Jewish author Josephus Flavius from around ninety 3/ninety 4 which enable us to to settle for his know-how of the historic character of Jesus. so a approaches as i'm worried, the main suitable evidence that Jesus is actual is the undeniable fact that he solutions my prayers. Peace and each blessing!

That Zeitgeist Movie is filled with errors and flat out lies. Jesus Christ is no myth and has very little similarities between any of the pagan gods. Here is a sermon and video proving it as a fraud

The similarities are coincidences. Why? Because Jesus is historically factual, and the "competitors" are historically fictitious.

Jesus and comparitive mythology:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Christ_in_comparative_mythology

At some point, it becomes impossible for Jesus to have lived, to exact detail, the lives of those living and mythological who came before him. These were widely known stories to the ancient world and it is highly likely that the early christians borrowed from these stories in an attempt to prove the greatness of their religion, as others had done before them.
