YES! I sometimes am amazed at people who do not understand the Bible, or know nothing about it, but yet they think they have to explain their pathetic little arguements against it as if they really know what they're saying.

The simple reason that so many people don't see anything wrong with it is because (1) They don't read the Bible to begin with. (Needless to say they are not a positive influence on teaching their children on reading the Bible either. Yet, God will hold them accountable for this, especially the father.)
(2) They don't attend a church that influences them to read the Bible, IF they actually attend a church to begin with.
And last but not least, the church that they attend is so much into humanism, they don't see anything wrong in taking a shot in the dark with their lack of Bible knowledge. Because the church they attend is only concern with "I think," "I feel" or "That's good enough for me". Better known as a Laodicean type church.
God's Word was given to us for a purpose, and that purpose was not to be a dust collector:
"Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read:" Isaiah 34:16

It is scary in the sense that so many have been deceived. But not suprising being that it was prophesied that in the last days many will be seducd by false doctrines, especially the ones mascarading as the christian doctrine. It is such a bad copy of the original gospel and that is what makes it so scary because people have bought some of these christian doctrines as pure gospel. I am a born again christian and know what the origianl gospel was like. It isn't like what we see in main stream churches including and especialy the catholic church.

Yes but some people may have not grown up in a Christian household and wouldn't know the Bible very well.

It doesn't scare me, no. I do find that many Christians who post here aren't really aware of what their bible says however.
If you are going to practice and try to spread a religion you should know more about the book it is based upon.

It doesn't scare me.
What happens is that Christians decided in advance that their religion is always right and then, whenever someone comes up with an idea about which they disagree, they simply refute it. The refutation comes off the top of their head, but they assume (since they thought of it) that it must be correct --- because Christianity is always right, and they are Christian. Self-delusional nonsense, I agree, but that's the way it is.

No, peoples lack of knowledge for the Bible doesn't scare me, because they are still learning.
But peoples lack of respect for other peoples beliefs does. Because they may never learn to be respectful.

Mostly I see people who study and study the Bible but, never learn what it means. They can spout chapter and verse but, they have no love or compassion for their fellow man.

One does not need to reference the Bible to know how one is feeling. Feeling is the language of the soul.

It's the intolerance and bigotry that really scares me.
And I don't need a book of stories to tell me how to lead a good spiritual life.
I pity those that don't trust their own moral compass.
Thanks for asking!
