My answer to this same question, earlier:
As long as you continue being nice, they take that as an invitation to return. Trust me, I have been through it too many times.
Even if it goes against your nature, force yourself to be angry, give them a good scolding, tell them they are not welcome and slam the door as hard as you can. Before you slam it, tell them you are going to call the police if they show up again and will file harassment charges.
My tactics now are preemptive- I keep a copy of Stenger's "God- The Failed Hypothesis" near the front door and challenge them to read it before I read their materials. I then ask "Have you ever considered atheism? No? Why not?" and many etceteras. I find going on a polite offensive rocks them on their heels and they never return.

Jehovah's Witnesses seem to avoid the American flag.For other religions try putting up all the pagan symbols they are afraid of.I used to fly an American flag & they stopped coming.Now all I have is wiccan wind chimes.NO inverted crosses or inverted stars.Nothing satanic or they might feel obligated to stop by & convert you.LOL!!!!

if ya don't want them there , just put a sign up at your door, but id think twice before i dismissed all people that come to you door, allot of them are helping hands with praying lips

Put a sign on your door that says no solicitations. You can get some that are religion specific, but that's not necessary. Besides, who says you have to answer just because they knock? If you don't answer and they KNOW you are there. They will stop coming.

Put up a no soliciting sign at your door. That is usually effective at squelching the religious freedom of others on your property.

do that many come to your door ; how about other solicitors?? do you feel the same way about them; a cabin in the woods ; this is religion and spirituality section isn't it??

Ask them into your home for coffee get to know them, what have you to loose? Your what???? Can't think of anything? They are the nicest people I know.
