An electrically started fire ?
[Mad science alert!)
You might just about be able to make a weak single shot spark generator/taser!
(I assuming the egg carton is expanded polystyrene, and the wire has some iron in it, perhaps it's from coat hangers)
fold the wire back and forward, to fashion the wire into a several "plates". place some of the egg carton on top, making sure the wires from the lower layer is completely covered , then alternate "wire plate"/ egg carton. Finish on a wire plate. hold the whole lot together with the bumper sticker, making sure there's a wire poking out from the end plates. This is a crude capacitor.
Next form a piece of wire into a O shape (bester if it was pure iron, but so long as theres some in the wire it should work after a fashion). "Wrap" another piece of wire around it. Wrap another piece of wire around that making sure there are more "turns". This is a crude low efficiency transformer.
Connect the battery across the "capacitor". If you connect the "transformer" across the "capacitor" the right way, if you're lucky you might get a spark between the other terminals

Make a small boat using half of the egg carton as a boat hull. Strips taken from the remaining half can form a mast. Wire is used to hold the mast upright and sections of bumber sticker attached side by side to make a rectangular sail. The dry cell battery can be used as ballst to keep the boat upright as the mast could make it a little top heavy.

many numerous devices that can get you out of seemingly hopeless situations as long as you have a swiss army knife
(for you young folks, this was a reference to McGyver, a show Richard Dean Anderson did before StarGate...look it up on Wikipedia).

Tina, you've got it backwards - you don't "find" a solution and then invent the problem, you solve a problem by finding a solution! If this is an assignment, tell your teacher Gary H said to get it together and assign CONSTRUCTIVE, USEFUL homework that has merit of some kind.
